what glass product would/do you use on your glass shower surround for protection? We are getting a new clear one installed so I figured I should start it off right. Trevor
I had used rainx. lasted about a month and went down hill from there. I plan on replacing my glass soon as well. So im interested to hear the input. Opticoat?
i just recently used opti glass on mine as we just finished redoing our bathroom. it obviously doesn't get a direct stream of water but i know it beads like crazy because i couldn't resist hitting it with the handheld. The real beauty is after a shower i wipe it with a waffle weave and it looks perfect every time literally in seconds....doing this i should never really have to give it a real good cleaning. durability yet to be seen but i expect to last a long time.
I have been using Adams glass cleaner and sealant. I would say it lasts about 4 months before i notice it starting to fail. I also use Adams quick detailer on my tiles in the shower-- I was in a shop buying some product many years ago and I ran into a handful of cleaning ladies who were buying a bunch of detail spray, they said its how and what they use on customers bathrooms. I've been doing it ever since then its works really well.
I had thought about opti-coat initially as I used that on our tub (not the bottom) last year and it still looks great. However I'd be a bit worried that if I needed to remove the opti-coat for any reason hitting the big glass panels with a DA might not be good. So I may opt for something less permanent like the adams or similar product
