This vehicle belongs to a client of mine that has given me work in the past and hopefully has some more work in the future! I love working in this guy's "barn." The client's original main concern was the roughness of the paint, the hood felt gritty. While I was correcting their '63 Corvette, I showed the a test section with some clay and let them feel the difference. After inspecting with the light and seeing the results on the Corvette, they decided to put me to work.

The Camaro itself was an auction vehicle I believe at Mecum...it wasn't numbers matching however. There was an issue with the original 396, so they decided screw it and swapped a big-ass 454 into it. This is one sweet Camaro. The car was almost spotless, so a quick waterless wash was all that was needed before claying. After that, I did a few test spots, and Sonax Nano 3/6 on a LC HT Tangerine pad with my 3401 seemed to do the trick. There were a few spots that needed some M105 to achieve the results desired.

Here's a video I put together for the detail:

After claying just 1/2 of the hood my clay was filthy:

Some tar and grime on the rockers:

The black vinyl was a swirled mess...it took M105 to remove the defects, then Nano 3/6 restored the gloss and clarity:

Treating the seals to help preserve them:

And finally some finished shots. Between the lighting and the car being white...it was tough to capture on camera, but I did my best.

Nice work! Those stripes look painted on. Bleeding past the tape lines.

DAMN fine work! Car looks phenomenal! Correcting vinyl is always delicate/tricky. :)

Great car, great project, great work, to small amount of pictures ;)
Really nice to watch American old-timers being detailed. There are so many boring cars here, like another Porsche, another Lambos, another BMW etc etc , so it's nice to see something classy !

More project like this here ! BMW, Lambos, Porches are boooooooooring. ;)
