Hey guys, I'm watching the 24 hours of Le Mans right now as I'm sure many of you other racing fans are as well. And I'm seeing this spray foam that teams are using to clean their windshield and headlights at pit stops. From the looks of it, the thing is really effective and really really fast. I'm wondering if any of you guys know what they happen to be using. Seems to be a good product for quick window detailing to get some grease or bugs off.

I noticed some teams (last year?) - I think it was Corvette - use Stoner's glass cleaner in a can. Also, they could be using ammonia based cleaners since they don't need to worry about tint :)

Actually, some cars are running tint! The commentators were actually talking about it a bit on the live stream I was watching. Not very strong tint, but it helps with the sun during the day and the ridiculously bright lights at night.

I also noticed that Toyota was using some pressurized bottles. Kind of like the Kwazar compression sprayers

I could see that one being filled with an ammonia solution. But it's interesting to see how different teams go about using different supplies to do the exact same job. Spray in a can vs solution in a reusable bottle.

A good friend of mine works at Flying Lizard, the Porsche race team from Sonoma CA. I know for 24hr races they typically run tear offs, when they do clean glass often times its brake clean, because it dries so quickly and pulls the rubber off easily, when in garage they use invisible glass in the spray can. They're by no means detailers!
