My Review On Ammo Hydrate

About a year or two ago when I just started to get into detailing I browsed the web looking for any information that I could find. I came across Ammo NYC on Youtube and have been watching his videos and listening to his podcast ever since.

If you haven't heard of Ammo then let me give you a quick overview. Ammo NYC was started by a guy named Larry Kosilla. He puts out very useful content on Youtube and some great products (more on that to come). After many years of detailing Larry was tired of using products that weren't suitable for his jobs where he was working with such rare and expensive cars. So wanted products that would be work for his needs and live up to his expectations. He created the " Ammo Regimen". It consists of Ammo Foam (soap), Ammo Skin (sealant), Ammo Hydrate (drying cream), and Ammo Spit (spray wax). That is for paint and he recently came out with a Wheel Regimen and that now consists of Brute Wheel Soap (specially designed for wheels), Plum (wheel cleaner) and Mud (water based dressing). He also has his interior regimen and that consists of Lather (interior cleaner), Shag (fabric cleaner) and finally Mousse (leather conditioner). He also has some other products such as an APC, a paste wax, and various tools such as some brushes and he released his line of leveling fluid (compound) and polish.

In my opinion he's kind of like a "one man army". I say that because he personally reply's to almost every email, and I don't think anyone else runs the company with him. Now onto the review.

When I first opened the package there was really nothing special. Just some packing paper to make sure it doesn't move around during the shipment process. After removing the packaging I was left with a bottle and a sprayer. I opened the bottle and there was a plug in it that would make sure there was no spillage. I removed the plug and it smelt pretty good. I can't really describe it but it's a pleasant scent.

The product instructs to use with a damp MF Towel. So I soaked a MF towel and wrung it out. I did 2 sprays of Hydrate on the towel and dried the hood. I didn't sheet the hood or strip the wax before so there was a lot of beads. I ran it over the paint and it absorbed all the water and it left behind some " Streaks". Larry refers to those as "Trailers". They absorb into the pores of the paint. And they disappeared in a matter of a couple seconds. After completing the hood I flipped the towel and added just one spray to the towel. I did the driver side fender and I happened to finish the whole driver side with just 3 Sprays so this product does go a long way. I ended up finishing the entire car (BMW 3 series sedan) with roughly 10 sprays (you could definitely save some product if you sheet the water off the car before using). It left a nice shine behind IMO. That was because Larry added a polymer in there that is used in his Ammo Skin. After drying the whole car it looked great! The product is quite something else as I can only think of 1 other product on the market that is labeled as a drying aid.

Ammo Hydrate is intended to stop any scratching and marring during the drying stage as it adds a layer of lubrication between the paint and the MF Towel to make sure no scratches occur.

I quite liked the product to be honest. It's something different. I would recommend this product to anyone if your open to trying new products or are looking for something to help on the drying side of detailing. Now before I wrap this up you may be wondering what I paid for such a product. It ended up being $25 plus $10 for shipping to my box across the boarder in the US. I looked how much it would be to ship to other locations and it's a bit pricey. Shipping to Canada would be a flat rate of $39 and shipping to the UK is no different at $39 as well. If you're looking to order anything use the coupon code " TST " for free shipping in the US. So if you're having your order shipped within the US then you can save $10 right there! Anyways, thank you for reading and I hoped enjoyed my review on Ammo Hydrate!

(Just to be clear I did not get paid to do this review nor did I get this product sent to me to do a review on)

Thanks for the review, do not see much about Ammo and is one my list of things to try. I do enjoy his videos as well and that he is not afraid to show other product in them and say when those may be better options then his.
