Finally got around to picking some of this up. Applied it to my parents car this weekend and I must say I'm impressed.

How does everyone feel about using this as a topping for opti-coat?

Sonax made this product to top their coating (not sold in NA) its was intended to protect against hard water spots that coatings are known to have.

As of late I have recommended this to all customers that have applied Opti coat on their cars with us.

As said above by Phil. Its a topper but make its fine alone. I applied it over OC just before christmas and it made it bead and sheet water like no tomorrow. Love it!

So this sprays out like a foamy type of stuff?
Can i just spray it directly on a MF towel, spread and then buff off?
    Instead of using applicators...?

Foamy type stuff yes.. But best to use a foam applicator.. you can spray on app /and or directly to paint then spread and buff.

Really good stuff. Same with their spray detailer

    Cool.

I have Griots Paint Sealant and Collinite 845. I'm not sure I'm thrilled about the durability of the Griots Paint Sealant (for my dd). I am interested in picking up some Sonax, but I was wondering if it would be better as a topper to 845 or a stand alone.

I find Net Shield very tough to use, although i still use it on almost every uncoated vehicle now because of how great it looks and the durability.

I spray on, usually about a half a panel...with just enough to lightly coat the panel...so probably like a .75 second trigger pull. Then i just spray the applicator with a quick hit to prime it, then i spread evenly like a coating.

It seems to be very streaky on me, and takes so much effort to wipe off. Should i be using less product? More product? Different method?

What are you guys finding successful?

Sonax Net Shield beading after 3+ months. This vehicle hasn't been washed since the Sonax application and it was exposed to road salt for 2-3 weeks.

I spray Sonax net shield straight onto a towel and wipe the area. Then buff off with another clean towel. You can extend the protection by using their Brilliant shine detailer. I notice tight beading at stand still and very nice sheeting affect when moving.

heres a little video I made last month.

How Much Effort is required to buff off Net Shield
I am using OC/OS primarily on soft paint due to just the *softness* and even something as simple as wiping after polishing can marr the paint.
