You know I thought I had seen everything when it came to crapy customer service when I attempted to buy my wife and daughter a car last year. For those you remember, I couldn't get my local Porsche dealership to call me regarding a car I saw on their lot. Link below for the original crappy experience I had that put my blood pressure through the roof. Well it happened again!

This time it's Audi. I went over to my local dealership on Friday March 29th to see about buying a Q7 for my wife and a S7 for myself. Looked around with a salesman for about 30 minutes and found the two I wanted. I told the salesman that I was going to be trading in two vehicles and asked if they could arrange to have someone come to my house to appraise the trades. They said no problem. Asked if I could email them the VIN#'s to both cars and they would be out Monday or Tuesday. I sent the VIN#'s over about 2 hours after leaving the dealership and asked that they contact me with a time to appraise the cars. Saturday, no call. Monday no call, Tuesday no call, so I decided to give the sales person a call to see what was going on. The girl who answered the call said that he was with someone and took a message. I asked for the General Sales manager and was told he also was unavailable. No call back Wednesday, Thursday Friday, Saturday or today. I really think someone is punking me. It's not like I dive up in an old beater. I drove up in my Lamborghini and tell this idiot I'm ready to purchase two cars for $160K and I get NOTHING!!!!

Did a little experiment Saturday and emailed a local Honda dealership inquiring about a CRV on their website. Got an email about 5 minutes later and a call today asking if I would like to stop in and see the car. Before anyone says go to another dealership, there is none. Have any of you ever experienced anything like this? I mean I could understand it happening once but twice now and a a different dealership?

Man, you just dont have luck with dealerships do you?

I think that is just the attitude of audi, unfortunately. We have 4 audi dealers around, it used to be three. My dad wanted to purchase a Q5 in late 2009 and we just about went to BMW because of the sleezy "were better then you, stop waisting our time" attitude of the other three. Even though he didnt like the way the X3 drove/handled he wasnt going to give audi a dime of his money. During that timeframe a new dealer opened up, we walked in and were treated like royalty, we were actually their first customer but man was that buying experience amazing. fast forward to today and 2 audi purchases later they still treat us like best friends. they remember everyones first name and even make it a point to call on my dads birthday to wish him well. Only better then their sales people are their service staff. Absolutely phenomenal.

Its a shame how most audi dealerships are and treat their customers. Probably doesnt help that they are the only dealer in town. to have a sale of 160k in a blink of an eye im sure a dealer out of state would be more then willing to treat you well, make a vacation out of it! sorry about your difficulties, hopefully it works out in the end :) as kilo 6 said Call Audi Of America and let them know, they really care about their clients and im sure they will bend over backwards for you

Which cars are you trading in?

Don't let anyone tell you the economy is bad. It's not. What you just stated happens to me PLENTY in other forms. Might not be cars, but can be ANYTHING of moderate to high value. Every single one of my closest friends works in the car business and everyone's making plenty of money.

I am also hesitant about Audi. Love their cars, do not like the local dealership here although they did just build a second one in Austin. I am treated like royalty at the BMW dealership when I take my wife's 135i in. Amazing experience buying the car, amazing experience every time I take it in for service.

Looking to trade my wife's 2008 Mercedes GL450 and my daily driver 2008 Chevy Tahoe. The only issue I have going out of town to get the car is that If I can't get these clown to call me back on a $160 sale, I'd hate to see their service on the cars. I say "F" them!

Want to show us some pics of the Porches you bought from the "other dealership" in your last thread? I only saw pics of the red one.

damn, you have lots of money and they won't even make an effort to sell you some cars on the spot.

that is dumb of them. how much easier can it get to sell a car? no persuasion needed from salesman or sales pitch...no negotiation, just a straight up sale.

do they require you to beg them to sell to you?

hope to see some pics of your new rides!

I had a great experience at one of the local Audi dealers here. I called them with the lowest price on Autotrader and they beat it. Did the whole thing over the phone with an excellent sales person who I never actually ended up meeting since I needed the car the next day and he was going on vacation. Everything was smooth as could be. He called me, texted me, and emailed me to make sure the delivery went well and that the car was good. Amazing.

I've had nothing but great service at my Audi dealership. unfortunately customer service varies greatly between dealers, even those of the same manufacture. I'm sure you'll find a way to stick it to them like you did with the Porsche dealer.

3Pedal, were in the same area so I know of the dealers that you probably visited. What did you experience? I got my car from Turnersville and I've been treated great. My first visit when I was starting looking was less than an hour before they closed on a Saturday night. Most of the sales people had left so I wasn't expecting to do much besides look around. That was absolutely not the case, the head sales manager took me for a test drive himself and didn't push me out the door. Oh and I guess I was around 22-23 at the time so it's not like I looked like an easy sale, most places probably wouldn't even considered me a buyer. Service on the car has been great too. Took care of an issue needed to be fixed (warranty) without a question and they are more than happy to accommodate my "no wash" request. Cherry hill on the other hand I have heard horror stories from most of my customers.

That's terrible. I in no way shape or form could make a purchase of that amount but i scratch my head all the time when stuff like this happens and it could be with anything. Maybe i'm wanting to buy a TV, home theatre etc . . . . . and i have the worst luck. People for the most part don't acknowledge me in certain places like i'm just messing around. Hell i went into the jewelry store one time and 2 stores didn't ask me if i needed help. Walked into the next store and was greeted and treated properly and they got the sale. How can that Audi dealership seriously fumble the ball on a $160,000 sale? They have got to be retarded. I would call Audi and complain, make them bend over backwards and then tell them you know what i changed my mind i'll be getting a BMW instead! LoL

This kind of happened to me.
I found a car on cars.com really close to me. When I went in with my girlfriend to check the car out, no one took me seriously.
Took 20 minutes of me sitting in the waiting area for a salesman to finally be brought to me to show me the car.

I bought the car the next day. Now the salesman is very nice, so is all the staff.
I guess when I walked in the first impression that they got of me, is that I'm just some 21 year old kid who wants to go for a test drive in an Audi S4.

^^^^ This. I went to a dealership to drive a newer S4 and drove up in a friends older ford and literally had not one person come up to me, then when I did ask to drive the car the guy straight up told me no. Well few days later went there on lunch with co-worker with a demo car from our dealership (Ferrari 458), and everyone and their brother wanted to help us, sad but I get why it happens to us younger guys.
