Hey All - Been a long time lurker and admirer, but I have finally mustered the courage to post something. A good friend asked me to try and remove some swirls and light/moderate scratches, I reluctantly agreed as this car is worth more than my life :yikes:. Over the course of four days I was able to achieve a noticeable difference, although far from perfect. When measuring the paint I was discouraged to find the hood, fenders, and trunk were all 8X microns, the average 88. Products used - Porter Cable D300/M105 for compounding - Megs MF Disc Menzerna PF2500 - LC Hydro Tangerine MenzernA SF4000 - LC Black Force Field of dirt Same door after compounding And some sunshots (Bumper trim was later cleaned, this was the first spot of sun I had seen in two days and felt the need to seize the moment) Any comments positive or negative are always welcome Thanks for looking Tony
Saw a Wiesman Engineering prepped E63 race a CTS-V and a lambo yesterday at the races. These things are incredibly fast. Great work.
Dude! That's awesome! That's a good looking turnaround. You used some great compounds/ pads for the job so no wonder you got good results. Have fun!
Thank you! I did a fair bit of reading on what products you guys have used on similar cars, I owe it all to DB.
Did you measure the paint afterwards to see how much was actually removed during polishing? I'm just a little curious.
