Completed recently, this Carrera White "Track car" needed some TLC and this new to me client sought me out to accomplish just that. The finish was in dire need of correction...................here are some 50/50 pics and before & afters. Entire wing now clear and smooth. All better............... Holograms & marring. After. Rupes LHR75 getting into tight spaces. Wing after compounding/polishing/ultra fine polishing. Mr KBM approved hand polishing method(KBHPM) for tight spaces with a cut to size Megs microfiber cutting disc(When pads get old instead of tossing them I utilize them for extended service). Utilizing my "New to me" Rupes TK-50 mini sander that does excellent ultra tight space correction/polishing.............. Dirty Porsche keyhole.....................I cannot figure out why Porsches always have this issue but they do as other vehicles I work on do not....... Fixed with the quickness. Engine bay had some "Patina". Engine bay now as new again. Tried out a new Sonax product Phil from Detailers Domain sent me, incredible ease of use and beading demonstrated in the next pic. A slight "Pet hair" issue..................... Looking better.
Wheels dialed in. Finished cleaness. Client enjoying the present condition of the car.. Older 3M clearfilm corrected out nicely on the trunklid.

The little air powered Rupes really seems like a good tool to have on deck. I still need to try out the Rupes lhr 15
That Rupes TK-50 mini sander looks like the Griot's Garage mini pnuematic polisher that I've got. The body of the Rups looks a bit smaller. Mine came with that very small backing plate (2" maybe), but I couldn't find any pads that size. I cut up some orange/white/green 4" pads that some very damaged edges, but it was difficult to cut a clean circle. So I replaced the 2" with a 3" backing plate. Does Rupe's sell pads that small? Also the GG polisher is a real CFM hog, the compressor never catches up and will run the entire time I'm polishing. How's the Rupe's in that regard? Love your details Bob. You go beyond what would be expected every time.
The Rupes machine in this case does a pretty good job as far as power for a little machine, have not noticed too much bog down as I have a Craftsman 150 Gallon compressor and I do not know your set-up. The pads are customcut and laser edged from Kevin @ Buffdaddy, they look and perform like they were designed in that size. I find so many places to use this machine(Mirrors, jambs, wheels, in and around wings, interior parts......) another tool in the toolbox to make life easier and faster.
I've only got a 60gal 5hp 2-stage compressor, but it has like 13-14 CFM so it should be plenty. I think the tool CFM rating is way lower than actual use. I did look for a 2-2.5" cookie cutter that I thought I could sharpen to try to cut out some smaller pads from older 4" pads but could not find one. I love using mine on front bumpers. Makes it so much easier to get into all the contours and narrow pillars and door pieces.
