I got some coming in tomorrow. I'm planning on testing them on a panel this weekend. I'll keep you posted.

curious to see how these perform because LC when it conmes to pads is pretty crappy in my opinion.

My megs mf pads (4 pads) lasted a few cars and my opt mf pads (4 pads) lasted only one vehicle. I hope they are not crappier than those two ... cause I really like mf pads for cutting. I still use foam pads for finishing. Anything hardcore gets surbuf.

I agree. The durability of these things is suspect. If I wasn't detailing for money, I wouldn't be using these. I also use foam for finishing. Haven't used Surbuf yet.

Do these work like the LC foamed wool pads? Anybody ever use those?

I have used L/C foamed wool pads for years, and they work great on Airplanes too.
They are not incredibly long lasting like the old wool wool/blends of the days of acrylic lacquer and acrylic enamel, etc., but they are efficient, cut quickly, dont make nearly as much a flying wool mess like the others, and somehow can finish down really nicely.
Awhile back I got a fairly new Black Lexus LS430 that someone had hacked the heck out of the Client was thinking he was going to have to repaint the door.
I used Meguiars 105 with the foamed wool and 205 with L/C white foam and the results were absolutely stunning.
It takes me way too long to try to figure out how to post pics but I can send you the before, 50/50 and after, with 1000watts of halogens looking right at the door if you send me an email address..
Oh yeah, I used Rotary Power like I do for about everything that needs help..

The only problem I have with L/C pads are the dang Hydro-Shreds, as I affectionately call them. They work great, finish down incredibly, but will shred the heck out themselves after awhile and you have to toss them or put up with blue or orange specks of foam all over your vehicle and garage floor, etc...

The normal color L/C pads, orange, white, work great for me, their green pad is pretty much a useless pile of foam I will never buy again. Again, Rotary Power separates the Manly Pads from the Girly-Man Pads in my experience.. :)

I used a foamed wool pad once, just a single pass. A detailing friend wanted to show them to me. I liked how it felt, but the pass I did wasn't using a cutting compound so I didn't really get to see what they're capable of. If you want to send pics, my email is my user name here, @hotmail.com I'd love to see how they perform.

    ROTARY POWAR!!

I use the Optimum MF pads and they work fine for me. Sounds like you're running them too hot if you're burning through them guys.
Yes, great to use on soft paints ;)

I wish that was the problem. Had one delaminate halfway through the first panel it was used on. I typically will get a few cars out of them so its not so bad.

I have the new LC mf pads and have only used them once on some soft Honda paint. The cut was close to the OPT and Megs pads with a very small edge going to the OPT pads .IMO it still takes a foam pad to finish down. The mf's leave a little on the table compared to foam. I will have to give credit to Meguiars for fixing their adhesive problem on the mf pads. As of lately they seem to hold up much better then before.I still have the 3" come apart more then anything else :(. My Opinion may change on the new LC mf with a little more experience but only time will tell.

I really like these pads the only draw back is before you use them, you have to put them on the polisher and run them on 3-4 with something against the edge of the pad to abrade all the loose material, otherwise it will all come off while polishing and shed all over the vehicle. I will add a few photos in a day or so. I have not had any heat issues with these pads.

For those of you with both the LC and the Megs pads, are they similar? Foam backing and what-not?

Megs has it right with the MF pads. Was given a sample of the LC MF pads and was very disappointed. Megs remains at the top.
