One coat is definitely good, if you've got time for two that should help your durability some more but it's not strictly necessary.

 

Also, honestly like he said before...past two coats, you get basically zero benefits. It does not look better or protect better if you put 4 or 5 coats...one is good, two is best, and no need to go past two.

Later, just top it off...when you notice the wax is not doing so well anymore, you just add another layer. in say 2-3 months...or whenever you need to blow off some steam, lol!
