So i've been really doing a lot of thinking lately. Yes i have been detailing for myself for about 6 years but it has been a slow progress. The thoughts are still with me to move to a metro area. However i feel my self growing very distant from my buisness name and i really would like to start this year off with a new fresh name to represent the direction i would like to go in.

Can anyone here suggest some names that would sound professional that they wouldn't mind me using if i should decide that i like it?

I feel very ameteur with my current name and just want to do things properly and represent myself in as professional manner as possible. I have goals in which i would like to own a reputable shop one day and i hope that this is my first step to making that more of a reality.

So again i'm looking for suggestions on names for a professional business. Open to anything you folks have to say.

    Thanks DD Family

    Here are a couple.
You could use your name and add auto detailing to it.
    Superior shine auto detailing
    Hawaii's best auto detailing
Use your cities name and auto detailing
thats all I can think of right now.

I'll keep that in mind Franky. How did you get Overtime Detailer? I'm trying to see if i can create a universal name that i can carry with me in the event that we ever take the plunge to the Mainland i would like to take the name at that point rather then disolve it like my current one.

I was doing detailing after my full time job, so I'm doing overtime. So overtime it is... Also it deliver a message that it takes me longer than everyone else n I do. I should call myself lazy detailer lol

That Hilarious Franki! I better call myself overworked and underpaid detailing then LOL.

I started Detailing when i was about 20 and didn't really know proper auto care. I can admit that i was someone that just wanted a clean ride. I started the business with my father as he pulled me away from BMW and suggested i started my own company and that i did. We went into business as:

The Detail Guyz and from the time i started up until now i have learned so much! I will admit that i probably made more $$ when i started off though the economy was better it was more so bulk work then anything. My prices were less and we did more cars daily but at the end of the day the $$ was good. Now that i pulled away from bulk work it seems the work is less. I do still have help when detailing but i feel the name just isn't a proper fit for the image i am trying to uphold if that makes sense.

    :applause:

I wanted to call myself Wet Willy's... "If it ain't wet, it ain't Willy's."

Keep the name simple and memorable. Name isn't always what matters, its the marketing and reaching the target market. Stay focused.

One thing I would recommend is to see if the domain name is available before deciding on a name. It's a bummer to think of a great name, only to find out someone else has a business website already using that name.

    Great words of wisedom!

    Excellent advice!!
I suggest staying professional with your business name:

    Volcanic Detailing

Pick your target clientèle before choosing a name. I don't think something like "Balls Deep detailing" or "Wet Willies" would sounds very serious with the "higher" class executives that want a luxury service. On the other hand, I'm sure it would work great for the average person who gets their cars detailed.

I actually underwent a company name change a few years ago for that exact reason. When I started, I went with "Okcébo Detailing" (pronounced "Awk-Say-Boh") which is a play on the words "Ah que C'est Beau" meaning "Ah, that's so nice". The reason behind this is I wanted a name that would stand out and be different, yet be something that people would say once they pick up their car. It worked for a while when I was doing smaller jobs and every day regular cars (which belong more the French population around here), but as my clientèle changed and grew to a wealthier, more serious English speaking one, I made the change to Elegance Auto Detailing.

So, while picking something memorable that will stand out and make people remember you, remember that it still needs to reflect your work, and needs to be marketed to the clientèle you're aiming for.

For volume/bilk work, you could use something like 5.0 Speed Buffing [in reference to both Hawaii 5.0 (location) and the Mustang 5.0 (speedy work)]

For high end detailing, you could use Miracle Detail [because you perform Miracles] - J/K :p
You could use something like Tropical Reflections Detailing. - short on ideas here lol

Thanks for the great idea's. I totally hear where you and the others are coming from. Once thing i do want to do is stay clear of any reference to Hawaii. LoL. I only say that because should we ever make the move to the mainland i want my name to transfer with me and not start fresh again. Even though many might be against this particular idea i have been really thinking of perhaps:

Keeping my current name and use that for smaller stuff . . . . . . people here mainly just want a clean car for a decent price. Perhaps renting a location or still keeping it Mobile and doing like weekly washes, wash & waxes and less expensive services, maybe trying to hit up some realtor offices or something to where once a week i can hit a few cars at 1 location and for all of these i can hire a couple of people to work and i can try and build more and more clientel for the paint correction and polishing business. To many ideas. At the end of the day bills have to be paid and at some point i can't hold off for only correction jobs like i keep dreaming of.

Perhaps it boils down to just marketing the paint polishing stuff better and finding that perfect balance in terms of pricing and work done in order to secure more of those types of jobs.
