removing dried paint (from a wall....)

Still not use to the size of my truck over my car and tried to fit in a tight spot in a parking garage. Hit the wall slightly lol. This is like concrete paint and its extremely stubborn. I tried some medium grade clay as well as ipa and mineral spirits. APC had no effect either. Any recommendations on what to try next? The clay didn't make much of dent, but maybe I just need a more aggressive clay or more time?

 

I did a similar exercise on the vehicle that belongs to my wife's girlfriend. I used clay, but it took a long time.

 

It would be good to figure out what kind of paint this is - is it expoxy, enamel, etc... Then you can find out what type of "thinner" is used with that type of paint, and see if it is available, and try to determine if it will be safe to apply on your paintwork.

Have you tried Goof Off yet ? This product is made to remove dried on paint, etc... I have used it many times on automotive paint to remove tree sap, artillery fungus, and other things, and it has been great at doing this. They sell a little metal can of it at Home Depot for sure. It is yellow with red writing. I am not at a place where I can look at the can I have and tell you what ingredients it has. Perhaps you can Google it?

Try 3m adhesive remover that should work also,got mine at a place that deals with everything auotomotive.:applause2:

 

Mr clean scrubber pad. You will need to polish afterwards. Should make quick work of it.

I've had success using Motsenbocker's Graffiti Remover to remove paint from scuffs with and without using clay This available in a spray bottle from the Home Depot paint department.

I can think of few parking garages in Rochester where the ramps are painted with front bumpers.

Just be careful with that stuff...there's different levels of it with varying grades of harshness, so make sure to get one that's not gonna hurt the paint on your car. In the air-cooled VW community people sometimes remove resprays to reveal the original paint of their car underneath. One of the products they use is the Mostenblocker's Grafitti remover. Probably won't do much (if anything) to a modern clear-coated finish, but it can remove old single-stage paintjobs and primer so just be careful

 

Stoner's Tarminator will make quick work of that and do so in a safe and effective manner. Soak both the paint and microfiber.

for paint transfer i just polish it off!

this took me about 30 min

 

super solvent, or thinner. Or simply go to it with some polish by hand even. paint transfer doesnt need to be overthought hah.
