I really do think some people believe that is what a 'polished' car should look like. I worked with two that insisted that was how you could tell they buffed it like they were supposed to.

That, and how the dash is supposed to be SHINY! so you know they cleaned it...

Now if only we could get people to believe that the glass should have stuff so you know its there, all of our jobs would be a lot easier!

    lol...

Lolz. Look at those cool ghostly effects in the paint! They made it look even better by adding 3d graphics.

It reminded me of a couple years back a car with a dent on the lower side of the passenger door pulled into the parking lot in front of our work.
A car pulled in right behind them and a guy got out and started mixing up bondo and slathering it on the door. He proceeded to do a quick shave down on the bondo and some rough sanding and then got in an argument with the driver as he wasn't pleased with the repair job the guy he met at a gas station did for him.
The old guy in the 'repaired' car didn't look any too happy and the repair job looked far worse than the dent had. Finally the old guy looked uncomfortable enough that he wrote out a check and everyone drove off.

At least with the craigslist ad the customer can't complain that they thought the work would look better, he shows them up front that it will suck.
