Hopefully I'm not being too thick and obvious by posting about car vacuums on a specialty detailing forum, but maybe I'm just overly excited about my discovery.

I speak as the driver of a family minivan that sees frequent use and energetic muddy kids. Cars can attract dirt and grime, particularly in this season. I'm wondering what you guys generally do to keep your cars clean on the inside--do you have some routine or special procedure?

Thanks to this guide to the best car vacuum cleaners that my employer wrote and mentioned to me, I decided to buy a nice little Black & Decker machine. So far I've been quite satisfied. I finally have some motivation to clean out the darn car, and it really feels fresh and clean after I vacuum. How many of you regularly vacuum your cars?

However, I'm still wondering on a couple of general questions: what's the best way to clean the dashboard? And especially, how do you clean that fabric-y ceiling that many consumer cars have?

    Thanks!

I vacuum my car every week during winter. For the dash there are some good products I use Sonax dash cleaner. For the head liner I would just use Folex you can but at the grocery store or home depot. Here is a link to the vacuum I have been using for 3 years. 4 Gal. I'd like to know more about the roof liner. In my eclipse I have dog hair still stuck to it. I'm hesitant to use an agitator cause I don't want to rough up the material too much and ruin it.
