Hi everyone, I have used CQuartz and quite liked it. I now read lots of posts on the virtues of AQuartz. I wanted to understand the differences so I start doing a little research and I find this from the AQuartz website... Link to website... AQuartz comment on CQuartz :shead: So... can someone clarify!! Is CQuartz a sham? If not, what's going on.
Heath, I used the original AQuartz and found it to be a real pita to apply. They say it's different now. I dealt with Avi on the old AQ. I like Avi and he has never steered me wrong. He didn't go bad mouthing AQ people until really pushed about why the change. From what I've read, I think the red bottle of AQ is probably the better comparison to CQ anyway. Then they have their booster product..damn...it gets confusing. If it weren't for not being able to layer it, I would tend to go with OC. The OC is actually a better deal when you consider how many cars you can get out of a syringe. I'm doing an FJ cruiser this weekend that belongs to a friend. I want it to be perfect. I may try the red bottle if Phil gets it in. The bottom line is like the line I say as a Police Officer investigating something "there are 3 sides to every story". Both parties here have a bias and something to gain. The AQ and CQ are different as they both are different from OC. What one is better? That has not been proven although OC has the longest track record. I don't believe what any of them say and tried out all 3 to derive my own opinion of them. If AQ has in fact changed, maybe I'll look at it again with the red bottle. It still won't be as cost effective as the OC is. At this point I continue to stock both CQ and OC. Maybe by the end of the summer, I'll narrow it down to one. More testing is needed. Phil obviously has a strong bias and the changes here to what he sold came about immediately AFTER AG started their exclusive distribution rights with CQ. That is a huge red flag for me! Take everything you read about them with a grain of salt and try them out yourself to see what you think. I hope that helps. Maybe it doesn't. There are no clear cut answers here, just opinions.
Thanks Richy. I have used and am VERY happy with CQuartz. I just got nervous when I read that comment on the AQuartz website about CQuartz not being the real deal. Having said that, who is to say that the comments on the AQuartz website are any more "legit" than any other claim, etc. Like you said, I have found CQuartz easy to use, effective and that it lives up to its claims (and then some). With all of the info (some of which is contradictory) floating around, it is just hard to decipher... I'm happy with CQuartz and am sticking with it
at the end of the day its what you want for your car and what works best for you. I never tried the original Aquartz but if its the same as before I'm not sure where the difficulty is in the application. if you already used the cquartz and its on your car you don't have to really think about it for a couple of years. the bad mouthing each of those companies did to each other well let's say I have no comment.
Phil, how do you like the red titanium a quartz coating you have for sale? Want to try a coating and that seems like a great deal! Thanks
Well lets put this to bed.CQuartz has no issues when applied to cars paint.Longevity ,level of gloss cquatz has it all.Just one other thing jealousy is envy.So lets do side by side.I be happy to get Corey in on this.
