DOW MSDS IIRC, butyl and ethyl cleaners are one of the ones you don't want to let sit at all, and really want to avoid unless NECESSARY...they can be pretty nasty to certain wheels.
I encountered a BMW today that had some serious caked on brake dust. It actually seemed to have really baked some into the back side of the wheel as there was tons of little black bumps left. I used everything under the sun and i wasn't happy with the outcome but the owner was. I could have possibly used this stuff today LoL
I had a chance to test Brake Off today ... simply AMAZING. IMO, it works faster than Meg's WB and it clings better. Like it has been mentioned before, I wouldn't recommend it for maintenance cleaning. I managed to remove caked-on brake dust (barrels) on my 12 year old rims without using any kind of brush (did use a pressure washer though). Sealed the rims with Wolf's Rim Shield for that glossy look.
Malco brake off works well, not for everyday use on wheels that are maintained. I use it on BMW wheels which have brutal dust, any coated wheel that's bad . Take precautions I use a full face shield dust mask " smells bad and I don't want to breath it in" rubber gloves. If you have a pressure washer or not spray and let it dwell a few minutes and rinse you'll love it.
You guys are way too easily impressed. the wheels in that VW video weren't even dirty. A weeks worth of brake dust, maybe two. No where near caked on. Most APCs would accomplish the same result using a pressure washer. Lets see it on a set of BMW barrels that haven't been cleaned in a few months. Then I'll be impressed.
just got a gallon last week. at an auto paint supply. price was reasonable but havent had the wheels to do it on yet. i was glad there is no hydroflouric acid and they use different ingredients. but i am so careful after using megs wb for years anyway. hey ken isnt every vehical in bc a bmw or audi?
