So it's time for me to order new cards and i'm looking for a couple of ideas/critiquing to make sure that i am covering the important areas. I have taken to having a double sided card but want to make the best out of it and want things to look professional. As many of you might know i've really been considering the move to California to further my detailing as things here ( In Hawaii) aren't what i would personally like them to be. With that said i have been toying with the idea of a possible name change to something more professional and upscale. When i started doing detail work i had no idea i would still be doing it today so my name to me screams Rookie and i don't like that. I have no intentions of trying to break rules here on the board but wanted you all to know that i go by " The Detail Guyz " I have advanced so far from what i started out as. It would be fantastic to have a name that i could use here and cary over with me when the move is made rather then have to choose another name later. So any suggestions on some nice names would be fantastic and very much appreciated. Here is a copy of the front of my card . . . . i hope nobody gets upset as i am in no means trying to advertise, i'm just looking for opinions from fellow board members on what you think may need to be changed or added etc . . . . . Also, what would be ideal to put on the back of the card? I really wanted to toss up some sort of 50-50 and push some paint correcting/polishing but not sure if that's a good idea or bad one. I also edited out my number.
Took a look at your site too. Your email address on your card does not match your info@ address. I would also recommend enlarging the typeface of your info (name, title, email). The screen size of this card is about 100% larger than what it would look like in print; when it's scaled down the typeface borders on illegible. I would dump the Facebook 'button'; social media is reaching a point where it is a given. Besides, no one is going to search Facebook for your company, most of the time they will see the button on your website and reach it there. If you can, I suggest using a picture of a car you have actually detailed as opposed to a stock photo. If you can't show pride in your work, you lose credibility. I've never seen credit cards mentioned on a business card before; is there any particular reason you show them? Do Hawaiians favor businesses that take CC over cash/check? In the grand scheme of things, business cards are pretty cheap. So you don't have to rush rebranding right now....that can hold off until you move (if you move). Location is one of the most important things in a service company...you will only confuse people if you carry your current name over. A 50/50 on the back would be cool.
If you want my honest opinion, I don't care for the name - if you are a 1 man operation, market yourself - use your name. Anywhere you ever move people will know that it is you. M2c
The correct spelling is Water Craft which implies one boat, etc., or many types of water craft. No plural "S" for those words. DanF
Change your email address to info@detailguys.com or tyson@detailguys.com...yahoo account is not professional You can create your free email domain with Google Apps.
Care to expand on how to do this? edit: I purchased my domain name through Wordpress, if that matters.
Wow, can't believe I didn't know about this earlier... lol Fail on my part. It was super easy and I did it all right inside Wordpress... Damn, now I need to rebrand my email address..
Thanks buddy for your 2 cents LoL. Wish you told me that earlier when we first started talking LoL. We actually started as a 2 man operation hense the reason for The Detail Guyz but like i mentioned before when we first started i mainly new nothing about correcting etc . . . . . I have grown so much and think i outgrew the name to be honest. I'll look into that. I do have a tyson@thedetailguyz setup already it;'s just that so many clients have my yahoo address . . . . . i do have it so that it all links to the yahoo one though. When i get a e-mail from my website or one sent to tyson@thedetailguyz.com the message gets forwarded to my yahoo. Any name suggestions?
