For those of you who have a 5 what cases are you using? Anybody upset that they want to protect this beautiful phone yet don't want to hide its great design and slim form factor?

WIthout any case the phone has a great feel and is noticeably lighter and thinner than previous models. With a case it very much feels just like a 4/4s in your hands.

I found several cases that are .5mm or thinner online, some look durable some look like garbage. I am not looking for drop off a ladder protection but just want something thats adds little to no bulk and does an okay job protecting the back of the phone.

What are ya'll using? ... damn right I said ya'll

Well, my IPhone 5 is on order, but my IPhone 4 lives in its OtterBox. It may not be the most attractive case, but I like it in a utilitarian sort of way. I live with this phone. I use it 24/7. I use it a work to look up drug information, use it my car for music and Sirius, use it at home constantly, use it as a remote for my TV, use it as my music source while detailing, and occasionally even make a call on it.

The device is too important (and too expensive to replace outside of contract) for me to use anything but the best protection.

I don't have an iPhone 5 yet but for the many cases i have for my 4S i liked the Element Cases

They are pricey especially their billet aluminum ones but are very stylish - i have the Formula 4 case which i use the most.

I love the Lifeproof case I have on my Iphone 4. This case is waterproof and completely sealed, don't get any lint or dust inside the case. Who knows how long it will be before Lifeproof releases the Iphone 5 case.

After owning every popular case ever made for the iphone 4, I got away from using a case altogether. For my iPhone 5 I added a Spigen GLAS.tR screen protector. The rest of the time it resides in an empty pocket.

I got the bumper case from Amazon, doesn't add much to the phone and gives a little protection in case it falls. Costs like $10. I didn't want to put on a bulletproof case and have it feel like I have another wallet in my pocket.

Thanks given for the link! AWESOME cases! I don't know which one to pick! What made you pick the Formula 4 over the other ones?

Great, another awesome case to consider! Now the decision is even tougher lol. I'm so ready to ditch the Otter Box!

Id get an Iphone5, just so I can rock the Sector_5

He is working on a case/bumper for the S3.....

When I had my 4s, I used element cases....... or just ran it naked with a carbon back plate, I loved the two tone look.

    This did make me laugh

Gotta say, I have seen a 50 BMG take down a car at 1/2 mile away, leaving a hole the size of your fist clean through the block.

I was surprised the Iphone5 actually did not disintegrate.

    Dave,

I have a great solution for you that won't hamper the beautiful slim size (Jony Ive would be proud).

It's not a case per se but it will keep scuffs off the back, add some grip in the hands and on slippery fabric, and help it glide nicely on hard surfaces.

I like that Alcantara back until I went to order it. They want $28.25 to ship one to Canada! And that's the cheap shipping method!

We are an Apple iPhone family.

Mine is naked with a Scratch Dummy/ Now Ghost Armor film. I think it is like a PPF for the iPhone. I have it on the screen and back. Very durable and over the years I have nicked mine but for $ 5 bucks they will re-do-it at the Kisok in the mall in 15 minutes. Think it cost $35 dollars to do front and back originally. This is scratch protection, not drop protection IMHO. I also use a Verizon snap on shell case with Holster ocassionally. THis fits right over the film no issues other than my kids tell me it is not Kool to wear your phone on you belt Dad!

My children both have the iP4S and one has the Otterbox defender and all I can say it that it is 14 year old boy proof. He had the same case on the 4 and the 4S and it protected the phone well. Zero damage issues. I have had the exterior silicone cover replaced 2x in 2 years at no charge when the charging and ear phone flaps "fell off". No questions asked other than when did you buy it,and where to ship the replacement.

My older son has the lifeproof for the 4S. Noticeable slimmer than the otterbox, waterproof and most importantly for him-more stylish. It is made of a material that slides in and out of his pocket easier. We did had the charging port door begin to fail. it would not stayt closed and was damaged as a result. They also replaced it at no charge. This case comes with a waterproof extension that you need for the headphones. I did not realized this at the time of purchase. Not the biggest deal but you should know if ahead of time. Hopefully they will work that out and eliminate the need for it on the iP5 case. The lifeproof offers alot of protection and adds minimal bulk to the phone.

If I were going to get a case, I would opt for the lifeproof over the Otterbox simply becasue it is slimmer and less bulky.

We sell our old iPhones for a good chunk of change after they get upgraded. Most recently my younger son turned his into gamestop for quite a large credit for games. They are usually in prestine condition becasue they are placed in cases or wrapped upon purchase.

Good Luck and enjoy the phone.

I've never liked the idea of cases on my phone and I've never had any issue dropping or breaking my 3G or my 4. I have the 5 now and I did pick up some screen protectors for cheap and they look/work great and don't take away from the look of the phone.

I really like the Veil that Chase posted though and I'll have to pick that up! :)
