1st post so bear with me just a bit lol is there any difference between cquartz and aquartz besides the application? it looks like cquartz leaves more of a protective coating than the aquartz from what i can tell from youtube?
Different companies of manufacture for one. AQuartz is easier to apply, but doesn't protect as well IIRC. Straight from AQuartz site:
I'd be a little careful with the AQuartz marketing info... I don't know if you can really take one side of the story or the other with any credibility. In particular... CQuartz is NOT easily removed after it cures and it lasts a LONG time. In my experience, it lasts as advertised. It is a bit tricky to apply, hence my move to HB, but it does bead like crazy, sheds dirt and lasts a year+.
I had Cquartz on one of my cars and it was applied in 2009 and still going strong, beading and sheeting is a little degraded but still there that is for sure.
i really like the sound of cquartz and that you can see the layer when applied, but does the cquartz mute metallic at all. i plan to polish out the fine scratches from the dealer first fwiw
I just did 2 silver metallic vehicles and my black crystal pearl metallic 2009 Grand Cherokee with Optimum Opti-Guard and you can see all the metallics even more clearly through this awesome product. I would never want to use a product that alters the look of what is underneath it. I washed one of the silver vehicles (2003 BMW 540iT M5 package), and the water literally falls off the car so fast you have to be sure to be out of the way. And this is just the very first rinsing to knock off what little dirt, etc., is stuck to the paint. Did you have an opportunity to look at Optimum ? Good luck with your research. Dan F
one last question, do i really have to do one panel at a time or can i just apply to the whole vehicle at once and wipe off?
