iPhone 5....I'm getting it

It's really dumb and straight up greedy. I really doubt that Steve Jobs would have approved of it, I believe they were pushing for the Micro USB when he was alive. It is by far the worst aspect of the phone and I hope someone can make a good adapter for it, since the one Apple provides does not support video or iPod out, killing every device that uses the old connection to play music. There is literally nothing better about it, and it's still USB 2.0 technology. It really sucks that they lost Steve Jobs, they're messing up since then. I'm hoping it's only a temporary slip up and they realize their mistake, but if they continue pulling stuff like this they will find themselves losing many, many fans.

Still relatively minor in the end since you can just use an AUX cord on most devices. I just hope China can copy the cords soon, since I always get my cords and wall adapters from there for 99 cents each with free shipping.

Underwhelming was my reaction when I saw it. It gets the iPhone about caught up with the current state-of-the-art from Android and WP8, but nothing really revolutionary or new about the hardware (and still missing several features that other phones have), and the OS is starting to feel a bit dated. A good upgrade for those who like Apple's products and ecosystem, but not something that really stands out, for me.

I think I am just going to upgrade my 4 to a 4S for now. The 4S is going to sell for $99.

I can't believe that they changed the dock connector which means I would have to buy all new charging cables (have tons of them). I also have 3 Iphone music docks and obviously the new 5 is not going to fit until they come out with an adapter.

I'm sure a lot of people are frustrated with the new "Lightning" connector, but I could really care less. I, however, do not currently own an iPhone , just a couple iPods.

In my opinion, they could have made the phone with the micro USB connector, 10x better camera and new design and people would still find something to bit&h about, just because it's Apple. Everyone expects them to invent robot alien phones and still sell them for a nickel.

Isn't that Apple's new thing now? I think the Macs have connections like that that are supposed to be superior to the USB. I don't have a Mac so I can't really comment on how it works I just know they made a big deal about being able to daisy chain several peripherals together and use only one port on the Mac

all I know is that the rumor has been out there for 3 months about the new connector, you will either love it or hate it. But it will boost sales for the 4s, that is no doubt. 99.00 to get a Iphone that was just released basically. Some people don't want or care about a "slightly" larger screen and if they do they would probably not even look at the 5 anyway, they would be looking for an android where the common size is 4.5" and up anyway.

Not bashing apple, but they are always a year behind when it comes to what is being offered by android when it comes to features and size.

My opinion on iPhone & Android devices:

    Apple:
    +Top notch quality/engineering design
    +Buttery smooth UI
    +Very high quality camera
    +Everything "just works"--they don't typically release products that feel like a beta/test
-Usually not the fastest hardware specs on the market
-Always behind on features compared to Android (Turn by turn navigation, notifications, WIDGETS, true multi-tasking, full customization, replaceable battery).
-Proprietary software limits you to the things you can do w/ the OS (iTunes sync--file transfers, limited freedom)

    Android:
    +Constantly producing new hardware/features
+Latest models run extremely well and smooth (not as buttery as iOS; but close)
    +More/better free apps
    +Better customization
+More potential if the user is willing to tinker with the phone
-Fragmentation of OS versions (their flagship phone still doesn't have its latest update, Jelly Bean)
-Phone requires more tinkering than iOS (pro/con)

That being said, for those that like to tinker, Android should be a more powerful option for you. For those that don't want to think about it, and let Apple determine what's good/bad, iPhone. You can't go wrong with either. I love both. I am an Android user and envy iPhone hardware and buttery OS, but don't care for anything else. I would consider myself a power user.

P.S. I own Apple, PC, and Android products -- I love all of them.

I just use my phone to call people. True story.

What the hell are you talking about............. calling people, that is absurd.

Yeah, Ill admit that is one of my biggest gripes about android, it can be finicky and unstable at times.

Do you listen to music when you detail? I would say using my phone to look up stuff on the internet is it's primary use after texting/e-mail/calls, but I listen to Pandora/8tracks/Spotify almost the entire time when I detail. You find new music without the repetition of radio and rediscover old favorites. It makes detailing go much faster/enjoyable. Those are really the main uses for my phone at least. Calendar and notes are pretty clutch too.

Nope. All I use my phone for is texting and calling. Have an iPod nano for listening to music - much smaller and lighter. If I want to look stuff up on the internet, I use my Macbook. I'm old. I can't see shit on a 3" screen! LOL
