Hi all. This is my first post here. I stop by off and on just to check out everyones work and to see what all products you all like to use on different paints to try and refine my own skills. I've been detailing for a little over 2 years. I currently detail at a nissan dealership and I see improper detailing from my coworkers all the time so I've been trying to work with some of the guys to help improve their skills, mainly at paint correction. We've had to buff many many cars at the dealership but I've only begun to take it very seriously over the past few months or so as I've been trying to hone the craft. I feel that my skills have improved ten fold from the first car I buffed back in october 2011 but I'd like to hear what some skilled detailers think of my work.

This is a Nissan Cube I worked on the past week. The paint color is super black and it had many deep imperfections. It took me a little bit to find a good pad and product combo to finish the paint down nicely. I ended up using a white cutting pad with Liquid Ice cutting compound followed by a 3M cutting pad with 3M gray polish then for the final step I used a 3M polish pad with the 3M gray polish compound. I'm not crazy about any of this stuff but that's what they provide us at work so I work with what I got

These following 3 shots are of the same panel right before I started correcting, then during and finally the outcome.

Getting there. Still not satisfied however.

And the outcome. Almost all the imperfections removed

Pass side hood after. Forgot to take a before but it was comparable to the driver side hood before shot.

Still some slight imperfections here. I didn't spend as much time on the rear hatch as I would have liked to.

I plan to do my own 04 Mustang GT here soon. I'll be using my own porter cable with LC orange, black and white pad with M105 and M205 with that as I do better work with my random orbital PC than with the ATD Rotary that we have at work. Thanks for checking out my work!

Fantastic work on that black cube especially at a dealership as they are known for hack jobs. Nice to see you educate your coworkers as well.

Thanks all. They are and we used to be like that but I got hooked on becoming a better detailer from reading articles on detailedimage.com and on here and have been improving since. I'll be doing a customers dark blue maxima tomorrow at work that's in similar shape so I hope I can bring it's paint back to life as well.
