Hey guys, I usually keep on top of my car every 3 days or so, so I don't really need to use sonax or wolfs on them, usually just a rinse and good cleaning with soap and my brushes gets them 100%. But, I would like to find a more economical solution to my frequent cleaning needs. I wondered if anyone knows of a really cheap and really sudsy car soap you can pick up locally preferably that would be just for wheel wash. I picked up duragloss 901 but found it wasn't that sudsy despite it being a "cherry" bomb type of soap...it was more along the lines of a boutique shampoo in its suds surprisingly. Thanks!
One of the most economical soaps with good cleaning ability and good amounts of suds for me is Meguiars D110 Hyper-Wash. But on the other hand if your were not impressed with DG901 I'm not sure that any "good cleaning" soap will impress you with the amount of Suds. It sounds like you are looking for more of a snow foam... Also I think picking something up locally is going to be harder depending on what options you have. Can I ask why you are looking specifically for a "High Suds" soap. The amount or lack there of of suds is not a realistic measuring tool to how good a soap is. ONR is the perfect example.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I am a fan of high suds on wheels because I don't like it when the soap "breaks up" when cleaning the wheels, as my wheels are intricate and tend to take longer to fully clean inside and out. like for the suds to cling and stay while I'm cleaning the rest of the wheel. I have the competition package wheels on the BMW M3 (example here...http://www.turnermotorsport.com/image/wheels/wheel_e46m3_comp_lg.jpg). I just want a lot of lather to get into all the nooks and crannies. Also, I clean them more frequently than most people and often don't use wheel cleaners as a pre rinse because of the smaller build up that gets on them in the elapsed time between cleanings, so I want the soap to have a higher cleaning capability than a more mild soap because I still need it to get off 3-4 days of BMW brake dust!
CG CW&G is powerful, high sudsing and strong for wheels. Ultima also keeps its sudsing action when using it on wheels. Doubt they are available locally for you tho.
are you using a foam cannon? Usually 3oz of product with 30oz of warm/hot water will create foam that will cling onto your wheel and body for a few minutes. I use DG901 and Meg hyperwash.
Based on that I would suggest Looking into Meg's D110 Hyperwash. You can get smaller sample sizes from Autoality. I also have a review of D110 on a few other forums.
I know this is so random, but using a strong mixture of Turtle Wax Ice Car Wash Soap really makes for a great wheel washing soap. Tons of long-lasting suds. But at ~$10 for 64oz of car wash soap, you might as well just order something online.
I used to use Optimum Car Wash in a spray bottle with a Talco foaming trigger and foam the wheels before cleaning them. Since I have opticoated them I can clean them easier, or if I neglect them, I can use a stronger chemical because it won't strip the OC.
CG Maxi Suds. Its like $11.00 per gallon and super concentrated. CG Citrus Wash an Gloss is also another great choice but its about $18.00 per Gallon. For your needs Maxi Suds is perfect.
Not a local stire item but CG Diablo will create alot of suds. I found it only good for maintenance wheel washing. Don't forget that brake dust will knock down the foam your soap creates.
CG Diablo or Sticky Gel Spray On, then CG Citrus Gloss Wash with an EZ Bbrush = Tons of suds. Though I'd just use ONR or PC. Suds are a pain to remove in hard climates.
