Did you get the Griot's replaced under warranty? They're pretty good about that. I'm surprised that people have problems with it, I beat the living crap out of mine including a severe drop that cracked the housing(easily superglued) and it still runs like day one. And Ken, the GG is an 850 watt motor ;)

Yes Phil and gg replaced the unit which was great and I plan to pick up a back up gg but I also want something with more power and shorter working times when using menzerna polishes on one step jobs

I think the Griots will be my next purchase. Rotary is nice as i do have a Makita but the results are just as fantastic using a Griots as well.

Yeah i don't get it. Whatever happened to people loving the pc? I hear nothing but bad news about griots breaking down all the time. They work pretty much the same. My PC is three years old, has been submerged in water from a flooded basement and still works like the day I bought it. Just seems as if pc has been written off for some reason.

I love the PC, I make more money with a PC than I do with any other tool. Lots of money with a PC - LOTS.

Seriously though if a 'famous' detailer or super awesome vendor was the spokesperson for dehydrated bird poop as the NEW AWESOME BEST WAY TO CORRECT PAINT!!!! would a majority of people buzz up some hype on that too?

Stop listening to what people who obviously want you to buy anything and everything NEW AND AWESOME tell you...... or get a magnifying glass and read between the lines..

I've read that it's been released on the UK,so it should be a little more accessible than before.

the griots honestly does 95% of what i need it to do ...it is a huge jump in power and balance from the pc ....i dont think it is hugely more capable then the pc but its more comfortable and because of the added power you can apply more pressure and still maintain proper rotation ...so you can correct faster because of less passes. with that said after having a griots while working on a customers car is a feeling i dont want to have again without a back up

I love reading the threads on this da or rotary vs another. If the truth be known all of the machines are head and shoulders above what was available yrs ago. They will all get the job done if used properly by the operator. Companies will keep improving machines and re-inventing the wheel. Each machine has its quirks and pluses (is that even a word ? lol.) Lately everyone seems to be on the "more power" bandwagon. How much is too much ? No matter which unit you have it only has to make one person happy.............thats you. So asking other members which unit they prefer is akin to asking them which car to buy.Nothing wrong about gathering up all the facts and opinions before pulling the trigger but what makes one guy smile may have another pulling out his hair. With this said there are also tool junkies like myself that look forward to new machine offerings and a reason to purchase them.So bring on the long stroke Rupes. I gotta have one.lol.

Try a dynabrade attachment, might be in the right area for heavy polishing work I keep seeing some Pro's need.

I have the dynabrade attachment on my rotary and love it but the tool addict in me will buy a Rupes when available. :)

If and when you get it, can you please post your feedback? I'm interested in hearing how it perfoms with MF pads. Thanks.

So I'm curious who's still interested in this machine if you have not already picked one up...
maybe do a special group buy?

Which unit we talking about and what type of price Phil?

From the info released from other countries where the Rupes is already available, the price Kevin and Todd are offering the machine for is already below what others are paying overseas. Is the Rupes all hype ? IMO it's the real deal. I think back when many said micro fiber pads , m101 and the speedy prep towel were just a passing fad. Hmmm. I can see where the increased stroke will enhance the correction process. I'm keeping a open mind until the facts are in.

I have one.......................I don't do hype........................ever.......................it works...............period. The following opinion is from someone who keeps it real (lol).

Still love the Griots, have three of them as I need them for the tight areas. If you have the means get a Rupes, if not stay on present course and speed.
