Fantastic analysis of Edmonton/Alberta's detailing market via 10 second drive-by's of the shop. I can't think of a more thorough investigation of the whole picture of detailing in this province than your drive-by of Auto Obsessed. Great work!!

 

No I did not get this analysis of my drive-by's (once a week since I am up in Calgary). The owner himself (Troy) and I have discussed this once at an Auto Show and we both shared similar views of detailing in general in our area. Its almost a fact that this type of goods in our area is slow. When it comes to detailing here people just go to Bubbles, a Body Shop, etc and for products just a big box store. Its the Meguiars, Turtle Wax, and Armour All that is selling and majority know/buy. In my opinion I think most shops that sell products and perform detail services make most their money detailing and not selling products. I have no disrespect for Troy and his shop, he sells amazing products but in my opinion dont think its a money making business in our area. His business in Vancouver or Down East I could see being well earning. My judgement could be wrong tho since his shop hasn't been open for a significant amount of time and limited amount of exposure. Who knows what the future has in store.

 

Since when were you the spokesman for all of Alberta detailers? I don't think I've ever read such an arrogant post on DB before. Give your head a good shake and repeat to yourself what you write before you post. How do you even generate an idea like that? Pulling statements like that out of thin air is ridiculous and you obviously have no grounds or support for such a wild claim. Just because you're relatively new to detailing doesn't mean there aren't a plethora of detailers before your time and after that have a passion for detailing. Please save your outrageous generalizations to yourself and speak on your own behalf.

 

We don't have any current plans outside of the Edm location in the near future. We do ship daily and Calgary is one of the destinations .

Glad to know that there people like yourself looking for something better than the big box stores and want to support local businesses providing top quality products and services.

 

A.O just opened a retail store 2 months ago? I think people were going to big box stores for their detailing products for a number of years prior and still to this day probably do. Its not like I haven't purchases products at A.O but before they in existence I and others were either at eShine, Autowerks, etc online or at a big box store locally. My discussion is over, I no longer will reply to this thread.
