So my current place has a power washing station I can use, but we're moving to a new place that has nothing. I have about 100ft of hose, but I looked around our garage building (detached building) and there are no spigots, either. Looks like my only option is some sort of water tank that I can use with my electric power washer (since I at least do have some power in the garage). My problem is that I don't even know where to look. Anyone have a set up like this? How should I start?
I kinda have the same situation with my place with the detached garages... but i do have a spigot close enough. Here are some water tanks ive found... http://tsc.tractorsupply.com/nav/ca...ching_transferpumpstanksparts_tankstanklids/0 But your only problem is... how are you going to fill the tank and then move it after? A 50 gallon tank weighs 417lbs...
Here is another option... http://www.chemicalguys.com/Green_Mobile_Detailing_Waterless_Wash_Eco_Friendly_s/131.htm Thats all I go for now... hope that helps out some.
I would go Onr and for the really dirty washes take them to those wash bays where you wash the car yourself
Yeah it seems like it works well. Definitely more for maintenance washes, nothing too dirty. Also would be a PITA trying to wash post-compounding/polishing with this machine. Nice machine to have in your detailing arsenal.
Thanks for the links, I found some tanks at McMaster Carr as well, but Tractor Supply is much cheaper. The CG setup looks like it's too specific to one type of wash, but I want to have a full range of options. Does anyone know how much water is used in a standard job? I've never run flow meters on the hose, so I don't have a point of reference. I'm looking at 65 gallons of storage for $150, that doesn't seem too bad, but if that's too small for a couple washes then I'll be in trouble. As for filling, or moving, it won't matter much. I'll just load it in a truck and take it wherever. My concern is the water quality - if I do this, will I need some sort of filtration system or should I just be able to hook up to a house and load up on water?
I think full blast hoses can run 10 gallons per minute. Use a pressure washer and it will be less. You may want to look in to a filling service from a water company. They may be able to deliver fresh filtered water on a liquid transport truck.
Honestly I bought the Nomad cordless pressure washer 6 months Ago and never looked back. I have a GTI, so by the time the battery runs out I'm just finishing up, so it works beautifully. I got it off of amazon. Plus, you can order a spare Ryobi 18v battery and keep on washing!
The product page shows 3.5 gallons? How high pressure is the stream? Are we talking mister or car wash?
I would call it a "powered sprayer". It would be comparable to a small diameter garden hose if that makes any sense. I think they have videos on YouTube. I find it plenty sufficient to rinse off my car after washing. I'll try to take some pics this weekend when I wash my car again so you can see the spray.
Hmm, I dunno. I don't think so, and I don't know how you'd attach one anyway. It's good for a basic wash but that's probably about it. It works well for me because I have a small car and live in an apartment with a parking garage.
But, a large kwazar atomizing sprayer with the foaming tip from Phil works quite well with soap and water
