How many of you out there would purchase this Autoscrub pad but don't want it because it costs $45? I am just looking for some feedback on the pad as well as price of the item.
I looked at the pad while at SEMA last year and was about to pull the trigger when the towel was introduced. I went with the towel and has performed as expected and I now await the chance to use the new fine grade towel. I like the way the towel conforms to the various panel shapes compared to a pad.Now that I have used the towel I don't see a autoscrub pad in my future.Just my opinion.
I'd agree on the surface prep towel (~ 50USD 60 + vehicles) “Nanoskin Surface Prep Towel” - http://www.autopia.org/forum/autopia-detailing-wiki/141207-nanoskin-surface-prep-towel.html
Sorry, didn't mean to push your thread in the wrong direction but to answer your original question. At 45 dollars I wouldn't buy the pad for the reasons posted in my original reply. If there wasn't other options available then the price would not deter me from the pad system.
Correct me if I am wrong, but one should be able to get 60+ cars out of this pad if used and cared for properly. The price wil more than pay for itself in no more than 6-7 details if not less. Clay is definitely not cheap! I am looking into getting one, as it cuts time down as well.
Speedy prep towel? Disclaimer I'm a hobbyist I don't make money at this, if I get 30 cars out of this I will turn around a buy another one and be happy about it. I liked it over claying that much and it was much faster for me. I find one of the best parts is no more kneeding the clay or worry as much about dropping it.
What about if the Autoscrub pad was cheaper than $45, would anyone be more interested in it? Say, $35 instead....
Autoscrub and the speedy prep towel are way over priced. The products deliver that's for sure but it also delivers good profit for SM Arnold and etc. I realy like the autoscrub since its so much faster then claying. I did a 997 Porsche Turbo last weekend and it was badly contaminated and it just took me 15 minutes. I did not get any marring so I just used a paint cleanser and finished it off with one layer of Power lock. The slickness was second to none.
