Hi all, Waxed my two cars recently. One white, one black. Used collinite 845. The black car looks amazing but the white not so much. Can't really tell that much of a difference. It was also very hard to work with on the white car since I couldn't see the product that well... Any suggestions on an easier to work with wax on a white car and with better results? Thanks.
Woah, just looked at it on detailers domain. EXPENSIVE! Is it really worth it? Considering I'm using collinite 845 for $15 now lol...
Haha yes it is. I personally hate collinite. After you start using swissvax products. You won't want to go back to any waxes.
I guess I will stick with collinite since a better shine is not worth $199 to me. Also, the shipping to Canada is brtual!
Duragloss 501, cleans, shines and protects for a long time. Makes white "pop", also love it on silver cars. Here are before and afters with DG 501 on a brand new Highlander that I just did with less then 100 miles on it.
Why not look at getting a sample 30ml pot of Dodo Juice Diamond White. It's less than $15; no you're not getting as much as you do with the Collinite...but you're also not killing the bank just to try out a wax. Plus...since you only have one white car...a 30ml sample will last you a good while. You could even get their hard wax kit which comes with 4 30ml jars of different waxes which includes their Blue Velvet which is geared more towards dark colored cars. That's less than $50 and you're getting 4 different types of waxes to test out. Just my thoughts...
Are you looking for a very bright finish or a deep finish. Colli 476 paste wax looks great on white as does Werkstat Acrylic Jett Trigger but neither leaves a blingy finish. Both are very deep, warm looking I. Is your white metallic or solid? Colli 845 is very easy to use unless you are putting it on too thick. If you can see it going on, it's too thick. I routinely let it sit for hours or even overnight and it buffs right off.
Rock hard shine on silvers and whites is attainable and really shows itself once polished..... With that said, Duragloss 501 followed by Duragloss 111 makes light colors look silly wet...
Dear Friends I don't have much experience, but the vehicle I detail the most is our 2012 Honda Odyssey, which is white. The last big detail I did on it involved washing with Optimum Car Wash, applying Ultima Paint Prep Plus, three coats of Ultima Paint Guard Plus, and two coats of Liquid Souveran. The distinction of image (quality and clarity of reflection) from our van was the best I've ever seen in person from a white vehicle. I'm a beginner, so I'm sure many of you have achieved much greater depth of gloss with white vehicles, but I'm just sharing my experience. --Jaddie
Ive used 1z glanz on a white oddysey and a white GTI, looked outstanding and lasted quite awhile............ and the cost is right, you get quite a bit for what you pay IMO when it comes to look it all is in the prep as we know, but honestly I've seen a white M3 with crystal rock on it and a white gti with Glanz, and i can barley notice the difference, but that is me.......... Look at budget, use of product and conditions its being used in. and do not be afraid to add more every week..... durability is a moot point if you are maintain it. Durability only matters when you live in a scenario like the east coast where it has an aggressive winter and you may not be able to maintain the car.
