The owner of this BMW contacted me last winter about getting his car looking back to the way it should. After purchasing the car it had been damaged on the drivers side by a valet at a restaurant. After the body shop repaired it along with several repeated attempts to remove the swirls/holograms, the owner had enough and sought help online, which was how he found me. Process: Wash - Foamed with OPC/CGCW followed by 2BM wash and CGCW Wheels - P21S Gel and various brushes Tires - OPC, dressed with Hyper Dressing 3:1 Clay - Blackfire Clay and M34 as lube Initial correction step - D300/M105 mix on the GG6 with Megs MF cutting pads Finishing Step - PO85RD via rotary and Blue LC pads Protection - Blackfire Wet Diamond Before pics 50/50 test spot....can't recall what I did on this area as it's been a while since I did the car Strike through on drivers door from the body shop After jeweling down with PO85RD Finished pics...sorry, no sun Thanks for looking, Rasky

Because jet black marrs so easily.. at least IMERasky I was gonna ask you, what do you do in between sealant application and the finishing polish step? My dads JB M5 marrs regardless of what I use to wipedown the paint before sealant application.
I didn't find this paint to be all that bad. I did my normal wash routine, foam it down and 2BM wash, sheeting method to rinse, dry with WW MF towels. I'd don't do IPA wipe downs after final polishing unless the product I'm using for LSP specifically suggest doing so. If you're having issues with marring maybe try a pre-wax cleaner after your final polishing. Lots of guys like EZ Creme Glaze and I've used it a time or two. What LSP are you using?
Well i've been playing around with HD Speed and that got it to finish marring free but from what I hear it does have some fillers. I previously tried WDGPS, 845, DP Poli-coat, and even OCW. It just seems whatever LSP I use I notice towel marring, and I'm using higher quality towels too. Any chance that some paints cure differently and this one is even softer than other JB paints?
What year is the M5? I think I've seen others say the newer jet black is not as bad, but I haven't done a lot of them myself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That could be the difference then. Maybe some others who've work on a lot of the older and new Jet Black cars can chime in, but I know I've seen a few newer ones where they thought it had improved. Thanks buddy!
