Here's a little video of the old "lighter test" with our new scratch resistant sealant "Hard Body"! No I don't go around throwing lighters at my car or bananas for that matter, but this is just a little show that yes there IS a big difference in the treated and untreated sides :)! More tests to come!

*** By the way, my car was not harmed in any way while making this video... it was my wife's car :)

I want this^^, my car is black, even the slightest most tiny swirls show in the sunlight. I need something that beads like a mofo and has really really good reliability.

According to Jesse, its application and use are basically like bodywrap, with the added bonus of scratch resistance. Heck it looks like it does really well in the scratch resistant area, didnt flinch at the lighter test. They also say if you maintain it well (using their nano shampoo) that it will last up to 2 years! Thats forever!

Holy s***... Don't think I've ever seen a more convincing test TAKE MY MONEY.

What is the cost of this roughly? And can it be applied over shine/seal?

I consider a scratch in the paint...........not on the paint. All I saw is a resistance for something to be transferred. A brillo test or something similar would be more of a true scratch test IMO. The same can be done with a slick feeling sealant so the lighter test really proves nothing to me.

    I agree.......

I do think a brillo test would be more applicable, but the fact that transfer is null or less means the surface friction is lessened. Less friction should lead to less chance of marring whilst washing.

Im sure someone will do a coin rub or dry terri cloth rub. Im ordering it this week, if no one else does, ill do a real scratch test.

I got Hardbody in, it will probably be a few weeks before i apply, i could probably do that test soon tho, im going to fully correct anyway before i apply so any scratches from the test should be no problem. I dont know what scratch media im going to use. Brillo is probably a bit much, im thinking a bathtowel or Denim, things that simulate someone leaning up against or brushing agaist the car. Ill do a tape line and rub bare denim jeans back and forth and then inspected under my Brinkman.

Probably do this next week sometime.
