There seems to have been a lot of talk and questions about this product lately. As seen in some of Paul's detail writeup's lately this product has been used. I have not personally used it but i'm just tossing up a couple of video's of the beading and sheeting effect that i found while searching the net. I take no credit for any of these videos as i am just posting so we can all enjoy a visual experience. Thanks
there should be 4 video's but for some reason they are not showing up on my screen . . . . a little help?
You can buy 410ml (roughly 14 fl oz) cans of G|techniq EXO in the UK for £125 (just over $193) inclusive of VAT. G|techniq is claiming up to two year longevity with 80% of the initial slickness and hydrophobicity being retained for the life of the product. On DW they are saying that an IPA or Eraser wipe prior to application is not adequate and that you need to use a body shop panel wipe product (presumably something like AutoInt ValuGard New Car Prep or Hi Temp Prep Wash) to prepare the surface. They say it will bond to G|techniq C1/C1+ but that otherwise it needs to go directly on top of the paint surface and be applied at panel temps above 70F. It sounds like the pre-release testers first received samples about three months ago so the longevity estimates are largely based on accelerated aging simulations.
Boy, seems like too much of a stressful application for just a few extra months of beading whereby you can't enjoy using any other products....
