My long weekend started with a wash of my 2008 Porsche GT2 with Migliore Citro to strip the paint of all wax. I used Migliore Forza in a few areas to really get those areas clean with little to no work. The Migliore Citro was applied with a Gilmour Foamaster II and allowed to dwell for about 5 minutes. The next day I started the polishing steps, as the paint was extremely smooth I opted not to use clay. I used Menzerna Intensive Polish followed by Menzerna SF4000. These two steps were followed by another wash with Migliore Citro using the Gilmour Foamaster II. I then applied Chemical Guys Black Light Hybrid Radiant Finish and allowed it to dry, removed it and while I was waiting for it to cure I applied Migliore Bella Lustra Tire Glaze. I must say I really do not like to apply any product to my tires as I do not like a shinny appearance nor do I like the potential of product being slung onto the quarter panels when driving. Having said this I can tell you I do like Migliore's Bella Lustra Tire Glaze!!! It gave a clean matt appearance, dried quickly, and very little product was used. There is no chance of this product leaving the tire for a new home on my paint! This is one of the most cost effective products I've even owned in that so little was used the bottle will last a very long time. Now that time has passed for the sealant to cure I applied a coat of Migliore Presidenziale. I used a foam pad and let it sit anywhere from 2 minutes to 20 minutes before removal. This is a very hard wax and very little product was used so the tub will last quite a long time. The finish is far the best I've seen! It shines above Swissvax Concorso, which in my book is one of the best carnaubas made. It has a very neutral smell, needs to be melted onto the pad with circular or back-and-forth friction of the pad on the surface of the wax. Removal was easy and the shine is truly amazing. This may well be the last wax I ever buy!
that is one hell of a car. That red is sharp! Red is also a bit difficult to photograph at times too! I'm in the wrong business of detailing LoL. Would be nice to pick up a ride like that. Seen a pretty nice green one in the showroom one day! What do you do?
I'm a physician in Arizona. I have seen a green 997 GT2 on Ebay in the past 4 months. I'm quite sure there are only one or two in existence.
I completely agree!!! I bought it this way 6 months ago and I need to put the car on jacks for 2 weeks while the wheels get shipped to California to be stripped of chrome then shipped back to Arizona to be painted black. It is the one big negative about this car.
Beautiful car. My brother in law has it in silver, but somehow never gets it over here to be detailed.
Wow, that could make me like red cars! Is it the prep and the wax, or is it the fact that you have a GT2 that makes that thing look so good?
Fantastic work on a beautiful car. Are those OEM chrome wheels? If not why go through the trouble of stripping them and repainting them when you can just offload them and get something new and lighter?
You must have ties with Migilore.. first it was Primo and now Presidenziale. And it outshines Swissvax Concorso.
They are OEM. You make a good point. I've look into this quite a bit and settled with a set of OZ Superforgiata rims with a set of PSS tires. This package is about $7000 vs $1800 to strip and paint the rims. In that I don't plan on keeping the car very long I've opted to either keep them chrome or get them painted.
Beautiful car! I was originally on a list to get a sample of Presidenziale, but that was a while ago. I am glad you like it!
No, but I'll tell you my short story. Got into detailing my cars about 4 years ago and keep trying to achieve the perfection I see the pros turn out on a day to day basis. In that I have yet to be able to accomplish this I have kept on buying products. When I come across products I tend to go over board. First was Zymol, then Ziano, on to Swissvax, Dodo Juice, and now Migliore. At this point I'm done! I have so much product that some of my older polishes have broken down over time and had to be thrown out. I'm a Family Practice doc in AZ and spend my free time on my garage queen. I bought Primo about two months ago and although it produces a great shine it has a very high learning curve. I did another search of Migliore and found Barry Theal's detailing site that talked about this wax.
That makes plenty of sense. Just realized those are stock GT2 wheels. I was thinking if you had tread on your current tires they could be remounted to a new set of wheels, but I doubt you would find anything near the quality of the wheels you have for 1800. PSS are supposed to be great, they will be my next replacement for my PS2's.
Take a look at these - I'm sure a tread life like MPSC, but sexy and sticky! http://www.frisbyracetire.com/showproducts.php?catid=22&subcatid=25
