Funny, I threw away my CG stuff because I found it to be as worthless as armorall products.

Todd Cooperider wrote a great article on proper washing a couple years ago where he used 3 buckets, one is dedicated just for wheels though.

I prefer the ten-bucket method myself. Works good and it's good entertainment for the neighbors and all the people walking by. If you're gonna put on a show, put on a show.

Agreed. If I cared about these wheels (stockers) I'd be using a separate bucket for them like I did on my Avalanche, but these wheels are gonna be gone soon.

I'm trying to figure out how many I'd have to get to create a complete circle around my truck... then I'll do 1 wash mitt per bucket, and throw them all away after ever use :D

lol, one guy with Chemical Guys in his name and the other a known Adam's zealot.

Doesn't everyone know CG and Adam's are made by the same chemical company?

    Just kidding! :chillpill:

I quickly dip my wash mitt (after washing a panel or two) in the water bucket, wring it outside of the bucket(getting most of the dirty stuff out) and put it back into the water bucket to run/rinse it against the grit guard. and then move onto the soap bucket. Ive been doing this for a while with success in keeping the paint from getting scratched.

You could use a ten bucket method, but if your pre rinse is inadequate, you will still get swirls. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF WASHING YOUR CAR IS THE PRE RINSE. Do it right and you can use a one bucket method successfully. If you don't remove the loose grit from your paint before you wash it, the number of buckets, wash medium, soap etc become a mute point.

True story; it would feel strange to wash my car without a pre-rinse (foam gun). I actually forgot my Gilmour at my parent's house and drove over to their place to pick it up - killed 40 minutes of wash time but it was worth it.

The whole point of foaming the car is not to clean it, rather to remove as much of the loose grit as possible to lower the chances of a piece of grit getting caught between your wash medium and your paint. In my opinion, the Gilmour is a waste of time. Even a small pressure washer with a foam cannon will make a huge difference.

I'm doing a 355 F1 in Black soon and thought about being proactive with another bucket.
