either foam gun or cannon, do you fill up the container with straight soap out of the soap container, or do you put a few ounces and then dilute with water, like making a mini wash solution??
Dear ampbmw You definitely wouldn't use undiluted product. I use two ounces of either Optimum Car Wash or Detailer's Pro Series Xtreme Foam Formula and fill the rest of the liter bottle on the MTM Hydro foam lance. The air mixture is set to maximum foam. This works very well with the Cleanforce 1800HD electric pressure washer. The Gilmour Foamaster II is a great product, though I have no personal experience with it. --Jaddie
hahaha. I use the Gilmour Foamaster II, works wonders. I use about 2 ounces, eyeball it really...fill the rest with water and run it on the most open setting (E, i believe) and it covers a whole car and then some :thumb:
Use a foam cannon. Probably put closer to 5-6 ounces of soap since I like my shaving cream consistency.
well usually I foam when I see hot girls, ooooooooooo we are talking about cars, sorry. I use a gimour with Opt Shampoo
CamSpray pressure washer with Camspray foam cannon. I use 2 oz of snow foam soap (Megs HyperWash, Megs Shampoo Plus, DP Xtreme foam, CG maxi Suds, DG #901) in 500 ml bottle. So it is 60ml of soap and 440ml of water. Works very well, foams very well...I was kinda surprised that Megs Shampoo Plus was performing so well in a foam cannon...
Damn i guess im the only one who used straight soap. Although i stopped because rinsing took forever.
This, I use 2 oz. of Dawn, Hyperwash or CG Wash N Clear and fill the rest about 3/4 with water. A little shake and off we go!
If I'm doing a wash I use straight soap and if stripping wax, I use straight APC. I love thick, heavy foam.
I did that in the begining with a foam gun. Gallon of soap was gone after 6 washes, that was a strong solution killing beading after a few washes.
That is also the main reason why I started this thread, because in my experience, there is not a need to pre-foam when the paint is properly clayed and protected. On top of that, if you have an overly concentrated soap solution sitting on the paint, it has in my experience significantly decreased the life of the LSP. The only real time I foam these days is when I'm doing a full correction and need to strip the surface and want the foam to get every where for that extra clean effect. However, like on my car where it is clayed and waxed frequently, I can just use the regular fire hose nozzle to rinse and do a 2BM wash and get perfect results no marring. I check after each wash with my halogens and my LED for fun Just seems to me like foaming may do more harm than good on well maintained paints with LSPs
I'm realizing more and more with experience that there's really two types of washes, maintenance washes and pre-detail washes....the products used and methods differ significantly. If I'm about to do a full detail, then I'll whip out the pressure washer, SONAX, APC 4:1, P21S Total Auto Wash, Foam Gun, Iron Cut, Decon gel, etc.... For maintenance washes on well kept cars like mine, my good 10-15 customers who have me maintain their cars, my parent's cars etc.... I use Griot's wheel cleaner, Meguiar's Shampoo Plus, APC 10:1 on tires, fire hose only...maybe PW only if there's bugs and heavy road spray on the lower panels....more mild approach...
I have a gallon dispensing pump which gives me 1 oz per pump. Works very well, downside is it does drips a few drops of soap. I still believe pre-foam is a must, as you are able to soak the dirt and pressure rinse it off WITHOUT DRAGGING it with a mitt...In my experience much more dirt is gone when you pre-foam rather then just rinsing.
The one that Phil sells, - http://www.detailersdomain.com/Cam-Spray-Foamer-Attachment-Foam-Cannon_p_204.html
Not familiar with that one Sergei, but I can tell you that when I use my PA one with straight soaps, it draws very little soap through it because of the viscosity of the soap. I did an F350 and the level of the soap only dropped about 1/2" in the bottle.
