Recently purchased a "value" foam gun, and I'm not sure how to properly use it, I got no instructions or anything with it. I have the correct fitting for my karcher, I tried using it the other day with P21's bodywork conditioning shampoo 1.5oz and the rest of the jug distilled water. It covered the vehicle with soapy water but it wasn't as thick as I would hoped. I just got in a bottle of CG Honeydew snowfoam, hoping that this would be thicker coming out of the gun. But I'm not sure if there are settings I can mess around with on this gun. Hoping someone can help after seeing the provided pictures. I see that the unit says " MTM Hydro " on it, but I couldn't find it listed on their site anywhere. Please help Thanks Chris
This gun just has the one setting on the barrel, it isn't as adjustable as the big brother version. As mentioned already the shampoos are really what creates the major foaming, P21s is one of the least foaming shampoos that I have ever used. P21s is one of my favorite but not a great foaming shampoo, also you will need to add a couple of ounces to the pot with water, every shampoo is different that is why there are no ratios as they are all different. The Victoria Wax Super Suds is a wax safe heavy foamer, a fantastic shampoo if you want to use a foam gun or cannon yet have a wax safe shampoo...even smells nice too! Hope this helps, sorry no instructions come with these units and as mentioned most is trial n error until you get what you want dialed in.
I'm guessing it refers to the diameter of the nozzle opening up or closing, larger diameter being a more concentrated spray pattern and smaller diameter meaning a more dispersed foam pattern. Play with and see what happens.
Never seen a foam canon like that sold anywhere especially without an adjustment dial lol. You have to use a significant amount of Honey Dew Snow Foam to have the results your looking for (dont be cheap). Try buying a bottle of Maxi Suds II for $6 and use alot of it to try the gun out.
You can get the thickest foam with a snowfoam prewash cleaner as the one from CG you got. Try to add about 100ml of product and fill the bottle with warm water.
I use straight soap, no water. You won't go through a lot of soap as they are quite thick, but you'll get awesome foam. Try CG Maxi Suds, Optimum Carwash, or DG901.
Fantastic, thanks alot everyone. I'll try the CG honeydew and I'll add some of the names listed to my next order.
I have a Mecline Professional Foam lance, i use Chemical Guys Maxisuds 2 at about 2-3 oz per 1000ml of warm water, distilled water helps but isnt neccesary. I get awesome foam, looks like shaving cream almost, cant tell my black mustang is black. Because you dont have an adjustment knob you will have to just use a really good soap and increase your dilution ratio until you get the results you want. This is the foam i gett with Maxisuds 2 @ 2-3oz per 1000ml of warm water DSCN0554 by ModdedMach, on Flickr
So I got a chance to try the CG honeydew. 2oz straight soap, very watery 3oz soap 1000ml distilled water. very watery still It doesn't cling at all like the picture above, a friend of mine that has the same gun is having the same issue with all the soaps he tries. I'll have to get another soap and do some trial and error before I write the gun off.
Try upwards of at least 6 ounces of soap and see where that gets you. No need to take it easy on the soap. Go wild with it!
If i were you man, i would try to sell your foam gun you have and spend the money on a professional foam lance, i can use 2oz of maxisuds soap from chem guys and get great foam, 3oz and it looks like shaving cream, you should never has to use 6oz of soap, you are going to offset the money you spent on the cheaper foamgun by spending more in soap. lol Pwmall.com mecline professional foam lance, do it! lol
That is 2.1 mm, 1.8 mm and 1.5 mm diameter. It sounds like the aperture opening diameter size in millimeters. With a bigger opening the more soap will be drawn up the tube to be mixed with the water. Is that a switch to adjust to the different sizes or is permanently on the middle setting. Doesn't the gun nozzle twist to open and close the opening where the water comes out? When I first got my foam lance I was using a 1400 psi Karcher and I didn't think the foam was real thick. Then I got a 2000 psi PW and the foam thickness improved. I think the PW psi will afect the the amount of foam.
