Hi guys. I was thinking of using this product from Wolf's: http://www.detailersdomain.com/Wolfs-Chemicals-WP-0NT-Body-Wrap_p_532.html I noted in the video that they mention that the paint has to be free from wax. Aside from using ipa, is there a better option to prep the paint for this nano sealant? Thanks.
You are correct; many people do wipe downs (one or two times) with IPA to ensure proper adhesion. It is recommended to dilute IPA down from the 99% or 70% to something closer to single digits; it has been brought to attention that higher concentrations can dry out the clear. There are also some ready-to-use sprays on the market like Menzerna Top Inspection. Otherwise, other techniques include washing the vehicle again with a non-gloss enhancing/silicone containing soap. But at the end of the day, this step ensures longer life of the product; which in the case of BW it's said to be around 6 months. Even if it lasted 3 months that would be a huge length of time.
i just remembered seeing something in a post about carpro eraser. Would that work if I didn't want to go through the dilution process?
Wolf's Shine & Seal http://www.detailersdomain.com/Wolfs-Chemicals-WP-1NT-Nano-Sealing-Polish--Shine-and-Seal-_p_662.html
Thanks. I knew about the shine and seal but I thought you would still need to prep the paint before you use shine and seal.
You can also give it a wash with a alkalie to remove the polishing residues and oils. But remember to dry the car very carefuly after; paint sealants and - especially - coatings don't like water.
