This is a public service announcement. lol When selling and shipping items to Canadian members, please try to use USPS as much as possible and when it's not possible, try NOT using UPS. There are constant problems on top of the customs fees they charge us ($35 MORE than the taxes on the item). This morning I had to run around to get to UPS to have my customs documents to clear my package, but they made the paperwork to the name "StephanIe Villeneuve" rather than my name, so customs Canada would not release the item. On top of that, UPS declaration forms are not accepted by Customs Canada as proof of paid amount...I needed a paypal receipt...which doesn't prove the price of the actual item, just that I sent someone a certain amount of money. Then, because of the name mix-up and the declaration documents, they want me to ship it back to the sender and have him RE-ship it to my wife's name because it was paid with her credit card. I finally ended up making a deal with UPS to simply go through with the customs charges (the taxes plus their stupid $35 fee) and my item will be ready for pick up tomorrow...because they had to re-evaluate it since it was lost in their system from switching it over to "Self declared". Frustration! Overall, nothing but problems from UPS, so please...just ship with USPS, even if it's a little more expensive. In the long run, it saves us soooo many problems. Thanks! [/rant]
good grief..... its easier to smuggle 10 Kilos of dope across the border with some guns, and farm workers.
wow, that's a whole lot of hassle, didn't know all that was required haha. I went to Canada last summer for my first time in like 10 years since ice hockey, they were not pleased and held me at the border for an hour searching all my stuff....no fun.
I know USPS doesn't pick up but please try to ship with them exclusively. 99% of the time they are cheaper then any other carrier.
I won't deal with companies that don't ship USPS. ( unless it's Phil ). It's sooooooo much easier. UPS is BRUTAL!!!!
FedEx isn't any better. They don't charge customs at the door when they deliver but send me an invoice a few weeks after. USPS all the way!
Well, it seems to be unanimous that Canadians who deal with Americans want to use USPS. Take note American brothers!
How would you know.......................wait you live in the Central Valley and are LE with "Inner circle in the know info" my bad.........lol.
Probably they may not have a certain product, so............................that might be a little problem.
maybe we don't like our canadian vendors. Wait, that's not it. as much as I love Chris, Ken, Troy ect, their are certain items or lines that are not available in Canada. And US companies have some stupid sales as well.
As stated, there are some items not available here. As well, with our dollar at par, the sales in the US with free shipping mean a lot of guys who live near the border can have it shipped to a US address and then just pop across and pick it up. Yes, there are some cheap asses up here as well.
