As I stated in my first post on this forum I'm getting back into detailing. I find myself wanting to try a lot of products and I have Wish List's on 3 sites now. LOL. :headbang:

Do you ever think to yourself if you have TOO MANY products? Do I really need 2 or 3 different tire dressings? Do I need these 3 carnuba hand waxes? Do I absolutely need to try this new product? Are you ever just happy with what you've used because it just works?

I love keeping my car shined up and looking good. Some peeps just won't understand how much I like this hobby. I'm sure some of you can relate.

lmao ... I think about this everyday.

I have too much of everything ... I like having the options, but the wifey is already complaning about space.

LOL. Well I'm not married but I feel my pocket getting light when I'm online placing orders here and there. Then I find myself deleting things from the list because I sit back and ask myself do I REALLY need that? LOL.

There really is. Look at my detailing collection. I probably use about 20% of all my products. However, there's not much you can do about wanting to TRY new products. Problem is, after a few years, you've got detailing down to a SCIENCE. You know which you like using, which ones work and which ones get the job done perfectly every time.

I think you can benefit from buying samples and buying used. You'll save a few bucks while trying out everything that you want. Trade the stuff that you don't like.

I got into this January of last year. I already have more carnauba than I could use in the next 20 years - and I have a bunch of sealants and spray waxes/sealants on top of that. The advise to buy from other members who are selling is good - additionally, some companies offer smaller sizes, so you can try products out without committing to buying the full size. (Offhand, I know Poorboys and CarPro offers sample sizes for a lot of their products, Dodo offers panel pots, and PBMA also sells samples of various products, as well as offering smaller sizes of some of their waxes.)

G, how can your wife be complaining about space, you guys just bought that house! haha I'd be curious to see that garage.

On the other hand, I have had a bunch of products in a Chemical Guys cart for like 2 weeks now, pulled my credit card out twice, put it back twice. I hate having to justify even when I need it sometimes. There comes a point where you have too many products, but like Piet said, after awhile you have it down to an art and you have your own arsenal that works great for you.

She's complaining because the garage is full of my detailing stuff and the overflow (temp. sensitive items) are being stored inside ... mind you, she has an entire basement full of crap and I just have one little closet inside my office ... the bliss of marriage life ... lmao. I know I keep telling you, but we should do a detailing session at my house this Spring. Beer is on me.

Call me crazy but I feel it's easier to buy products online then physically in a store. I mean the actual payment part, I could spend $200 dollars on a couple of products and I feel a pinch when I pay $20 for some brushes and towels at a local store. Any of you guys noticed this?

haha dude don't tell me this about married life, I'm going to propose to girlfriend very shortly, I don't need pre-proposal mental scarring. Hey man, life happens, we'll get together soon no worries.

I don't know if there is such a thing as too much....... its better to have it then not when working, BUT I think there is such thing as redundant. multiple APCs, interior products etc......... I've really tried this year to reduce the over spending and excess this year.

When I first started out I literally had 3-4 products that do the same thing. I soon realized this was not cost/time effective.

I've switched mostly to Optimum now because I find their products serve multiple purposes. I can clean 95% of a car with ONR and Powerclean alone.
