I just applied Wolf's shine and seal for the first time about a week ago. It was beading nicely the first day, but then it started deteriorating fast. A week later and its already not beading at all.

Just wanted to clarify the process for applying this stuff with a DA. To start off, I polished with Menzerna Super Finish on an Uber blue pad, followed by an IPA wipe down. After that I applied Shine and Seal with an Uber grey pad on the Porter Cable. First at speed 4, then stepping it up to speed 5. The bottle says to not let it dry, so as soon as I finished a section I was wiping it off with a MF. It also proceeded to rain on the car about 4 hours after I had finished.

So I'm just wondering if I either A) didn't let the sealant sit on the car long enough before buffing it off or B) It didn't have long enough to cure before being rained on? I'm sure this has to be chocked up to an error on my part, because this stuff has been getting great reviews, and even the shittiest of LSPs will last a week.

How many wipedowns did you do? Maybe you still had some oil residue before the Shine and Seal application?

Before I applied Bodywrap I did 2 IPA wipe downs and it worked fine for me. I think its better now if you dont dilute your IPA with distilled water just use it at full strength either way the Cobra's clear can handle it since its hard man. I remember Jesse stated something about having a completely dry surface prior to application of Bodywrap and maybe also Shine and Seal; that the water gets in the pours of the clear and fills them not letting the nano structure to get in there. So basically your just putting protection on top of the water molecules. This is what I understood at least. In order to make sure you get the best bonding the surface has to be completely dry. You need to make sure you dry it with a leaf blower, a Metro Masterblaster because it heats the air, or a hair dryer prior to application. Or you can just not dilute your IPA, or get something like Carpro Eraser to use instead of IPA. Lots of or's here LOL
