Why certain vendors deserve support and others.........

    I have only ordered from Phil@DD but find that he doesn't carry some items I hear about on here. Now I know he can't be the Wallyworld of Detailing, but the orders have all come in with very little issues. The only problem I have is I can never speak to anyone there about my order, my last order I forgot to order some items as I was in a rush and left a vm and never heard from him. Aside from that I like to do business with someone I know is involved in the community and offers special deals to us.

    I have no issue during the black friday/cyber monday week.
    Both my boxes came with paper instead of peanut foam, which is good.

    Phil is definitely my #1 go to detailing source, and because of the excellent service I've recieved, I always try to do as much business (hobbyist $'s) with him as possible.

    That being said, many of the other online detailing vendors are great as well, Ken being one of them.

    AG has always treated me well also.

    Wow. I'm really surprised to hear all of the negative comments about AG. They are not in the same league as Phil, imo, but this is the first I've heard of (besides an occassional goof up I read about on their forums) AG having poor CS.

    Not that I don't believe it, but I'm just surprised.

    Maybe we are all spoiled by Phil.. LOL.

    I can't say that I've ever had any issues from any of the retailers I've ordered from.

    That being said I believe Kevin goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service and highly recommend him! I just received another order last week actually. Super fast as always and I even got an extra surprise this time! ;)

    I haven't had any issues with any reseller accept when PAC was around and that was only twice...but the second time was my fault for not learning from the first fiasco.

    That being said even though AG hasn't ever screwed me over, it is nice to deal with Phil and Ken since it feels way more personal. It's the same as if you shop at a mom and pop grocery store instead of Walmart. I get amazing customer service, and if I call, email, or PM I know who I'm going to get a response from and I know whatever issue I may have is going to be taken care of. Just my .02

    For the past two years now that I have been into detailing, Black Friday has been about taking advantage of Detailer's Domain's deals. Coming up to every major U.S. holiday, I always look forward to Phil's coupon emails explaining what specials he plans on running.

    I enjoy the service I have received from Phil and Ken. I left Ken a voicemail one day asking some questions and he called me like an hour later and we talked detailing for a while. I look forward to Ken getting things back up and running again (that and he owes me some foam applicators:thumb:) as he carries some good stuff. I would much rather support the people I know and respect.

    ADS is reputable and I never had trouble with the order and a lot of items I order tend to be a little cheaper there as well.

    Phil (DD), Troy (autoobsessed) and Ken (autowerkes exclusive) are all top notch guys! Never had any kind of troubles ordering from them.

    The reason I think Phil is so highly regarded among other vendors is because he really is there to help out with questions about orders or anything else in general.

    Some places you order some stuff, you get the wrong thing, and good luck trying to explain to their entire team of customer support what went wrong and who you talked to and what was supposed to be included in your order, etc.

    I'm not going to mention any specific vendor names, but you could imagine, the bigger the vendor the less they care about you in most situations, at least that's the feeling I got.

    I used to order alot more with Autogeek, Detailed Image and Chemical Guys for my products and tools. I have made several purchases with Phil in the past year and I honestly can say if I need something I will always check to see if Phil has in stock first because I rather order from him, and heres why. If there is ever an issue with an order or a product, or I need to add something to an order that has already been placed that I forgot to add he will get it squared away for me asap. Also if I ever have a question on how to apply/use a product I can call him and speak to him personally, PM, or post a thread on it, without wondering if the person I am talking to is knowledgable about the product or tool. I know Phil uses the products he sells and has the knowledge and hands on experience to answer virtually any question I can throw at him, even if its a new product and he isn't entirely sure on it he will take the time and will find out the answer to your question even if he has to personally call up the manufacture. He has some of the best customer service I have ever experienced from any company, this is why I choose to order from him 95% of the time now. If I am not ordering from Phil, I go to Detailed Image, Chemical Guys (for the CG products I like) and lastly Autogeek. I never had the opportunity to place an order from Ken, if he re-opens I plan to order some Raceglaze products and brushes from him, as he too is very professional and willing to go out of his way to help anyone out.

    As a matter of fact, I dont care for most companys that suffer from & have the " Walmart syndrome"

    Its funny too because high volume car washes can be the largest culprit.

    Which puts small owned yet quality business owners on here at a major disadvantage, The fact that 99% of the general population is highly uneducated and the amount of misinformation put out there regarding our trade does not help either.

    A battle I have been fighting for many years.

    I do not get the connection. Walmart is a premier example of American capitalism. They do not sell any more "China" stuff than any other retailer but they do sell at a lower price due to very efficient cost structure. They are not "fooling" people by misrepresenting their product.

    I agree with you that most of the people do not know or appreciate the difference between a $6 drive through car wash versus getting the car detailed by someone who is actually not adding any more damage to the paint.

    If it is about chasing the lowest cost, some are just more zealous about it than others. You see it here a lot. I do not see many people go out of their way to spend more on something than they really need to spend. When procuring a service, you most often get what you pay for.

  20. I must be the only person who hasnt ordered from Phil. I have ordered from DI and their customer service is excellent. Unfortunately our UPS guy is pretty bad about packages and literally throws your stuff if it doesnt have to be signed. Anyways though i had to packages crushed and my items were leaking all over. Emailed him and my order was replaced free of charge. Now thats what i call great customer service. Same day response as well with a follow up phone call to check on delivery. Cant beat that.
