I had a customer looking to get the exterior of his Golf TDI prepped for winter. The vehicle had some light swirl marks and marring but we agreed on a wash/clay/seal as the car will receive a full correction come spring. The owner also requested to have the plastic pillars polished as they were heavily swirled, common on many Mk5/Mk6 Golf and GTI models with gloss black panels. Process: Wheels/Tires/Wells cleaned with OPC 3:1 Foamed with Duragloss 901 and OPC Emblems and Trim cleaned with OPC 3:1 and Raceglaze Brush Washed via 2BM with Duragloss 901 Dried with Leaf Blower and Microfiber Waffle Weave Door Jams wiped down with ONR Clayed with Riccardo Yellow and ONR Menzerna Powerlock with PC7424XP and Blue Pad Rubber/Plastic Trim conditioned with Poorboys Trim Restorer Tires dressed with Poorboys Bold and Bright Glass cleaned with Stoners IG Doesn't look too bad right? A closer look... Wheels and tires dirty Swirls on gloss black trim Begin by cleaning all the hard to reach areas Two bucket wash Clay to remove contaminants Bottom panels are much worse Dried with Microfiber Waffle Weave 50/50 on gloss black trim All done Applying Menzerna Powerlock sealant with my PC Rubber trim around windows pretty dried out The Afters Thanks for looking, and much appreciation to the owner for granting permission on the write up.
