Washed the truck today and wanted to use the Wolf QD for the first time. The truck was treated with the Ultima paint protectant last week. The wolf QD did ok, but it flashed quick and left smears that I could only wipe off by using more QD. I wonder if this product didnt like the Ultima or the OPT no rinse I used? Never noticed anything like this before, with the truck being black it shows everything. Any idea what went wrong?

Isn't it meant for nano coated finishes? Pretty sure it's meant as an upkeep product to use after you sealed the paint with Body Wrap.

I read reviews of folks using it on all kinds of coatings with good results. So I 'figured' it would be ok with the Ultima coating.

I had been using Ultima Waterless wash, and was getting a lot of streaking from almost everything I used.

I since switched back to ONR, and not only is the streaking issue gone, my car is glossier.

Wolfs Chemicals Nano Quick Detailer is used to maintain Wolfs Chemicals Bodywrap when it needs a boost also, its to be used sparingly to avoid streaking.

Every QD will streak, this is why following with a distilled water wipe and quality microfiber towels is needed. Try this step OP and see if a improvement in performance is made and if so then follow with a post saying "I tried the distilled water wipe, and I guess the Wolf's QD was not so bad". The water wipe is a must especially in the hotter months coming next spring/summer (FYI).

I am going to wipe the truck down today with distilled water. I have a feeling that I just isn't compatible with my prior coating. It was very humid yesterday, wonder if that was the issue... So many reasons.

I used it very sparingly, that is why I was suprized.

The amount used plays a small part, the distilled water wipe will even out the finish especially in hot climates and works best as the last step much like after a wax lsp is used which sweats and for the final wipe on glass with the right towel for the job.

Just try it.......................and the problem will be fixed(Info contained in this post is proven over 20 years) but then again "What do I know".

A distilled water wipedown really will work Ebg18t, listen to Bob he is one of the best professional detailers in the business. I have two black vehicles and live in a very hot climate and this always resolves the issue for me sometimes I use it chilled when its warm outside but right now thats not necessary. You can pick up a few gallons at Albertsons or Walmart which are also great for diluting products as well since there are no minerals in this water.

Well I didn't have a chance to give it a wipe down. The wind picked up and the truck became a dust magnet. Maybe I will just give it another wash over the weekend and see what happens. Thanks for the advise everyone!!
