I have noticed superficial scratches in the gloss black trim between the drivers and rear passenger doors.
These we're not remedied with a simple wax.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks

Sounds like compounding is in order. Depending on how superficial the RIDS determins what compound to use.

Apologize for asking but...what is RIDS?
    Thx

Hard to tell without seeing pictures. Do you have a DA polisher? If there not bad you might try m205 or 106fa on a white pad to start and then go up from there if you need more cut.

B pillars are generally plastic. They can easily marr (scratch) but will easily be restored. Generally a finishing polish applied via random orbital with a finishing pad will do.

Very nice job and great pics.
I have a small area of similar scratches on my B pillars as described above.
What did you use on this area?

    Thanks for the advice.
Now for the next novice question...
Is the white pad applicator a pad for an orbital polisher or a cotton applicator for hand application?
    Appreciate your help.

Do you have a DA? You can do by hand, but results may not be as good. The white pad he is referring to is for a machine.

I have a porter cable random orbital as well as red and orange pads purchased from Griots.
Will either of these pads work?
    Thanks.

The pads are different colors for a reason, some are more coarse then others, the white pad mentioned I believe is a fine finishing pad.

Pad colors are all over the board. But if it's the Griot's Garage red pads (seen here) then they are for waxing; therefore the pad should have little to no correcting ability.

The orange pads have medium correcting power.
