Buying swissvax for the first time. Suggestions?

I requested a swissvax handbook a few weeks ago and it finally came in.

It also came with a letter thanking me for taking interest and offering 10% off my first purchase.

So I guess my question is, what would you recommend for a first time buyer?

It's not like I really need anything in particular but I am eager to try something out.

I'm not really looking to go all out and buy a top-of-Their-line wax, but not looking to just get a brush either. Although I do have their wheel brush and like it.

They do have some nice "starter" kits.

I was kinda thinking of getting:

    - car shampoo
    - pneu
    - wash sponge
    - cleaner fluid
    - maybe onyx/mirage/Blau-Weiss??? (Even though I don't have a BMW, I've heard nice things about using Blau-Weiss o other cars)

I dunno, I have till the end of the year to use the code and it would make a nice Christmas present to myself.

Any and all suggestions/personal feedback welcome.

    Thanks,

    Seth

Start with concourso. That was my first and absolutely fell in love with the brand. Three coats stacked is amazing. People will stare at the car

Since you won't be purchasing from Phil - check out the entry collections and starter kits that contain a few other goodies:

Their car shampoo is awesome but is quite similar to Lusso IMO. So if you got that or tried that it might not be worth picking up the SV one. I would go with Shield if you're wanting to try a wax. It's definitely a good choice.

I considered it, but it's a little high than I want to spend on a single item right now because I am looking to get a couple of their products.

I've been eye balling those :)

I just got the lusso car soap a couple days ago. Haven't been able to try it out yet. I was very tempted to go for Shield, but I believe it says, "only for refill or purchase with mater collection" so I assumed I can't buy it alone from them? I'll double check.

    Great suggestions, keep em coming!

I have only used Pheu and I like it. Not sure it is so much better than others i have used but it is not too shiney and I have been pleased with it. I had used Mystery at a detailing event and the owner was nice enought to allow me to use it on the hood of my car. It beaded and lasted as well as P21S 100% carnuba. I am not all caught up in Swiss Vax marketing machine. I did not feel it was worth the coin. I have no issue spending money on items that I can see make a difference and I just cannot imagine spending the $$$ on their waxes. I prefer sealants anyway-last longer and look better to my eye. I like a chrisp reflection.

I have recently spent my $ on BFWD Sealant, Menzerna Power Lock and Ultima Paint Guard Plus. SO far I like the BFWD best for durability and beading/sheeting.

Concorso would be the only wax i would get but, with the protection and slickness and beading you get from the new sealants out, seems a waste to buy a wax. just my $.02

Concorso is great probably their best wax other than CR.
    Pneu
    Cleaner Fluid is good.

Wow not buying a sponsor..that sucks.

Concorso is great, but i say for the price Shield is a hidden gem in the lineup with some decent looks but nice durability and sheeting properties. CF is pretty good as well, easy to work with and provides some glossyness/wetness. Tire dressing is one of my top ones, Crystal is well hands down my favorite glass cleaner. Many other SV products I have and use have not let me down as well.

I would say Best of Show(smagrd or whatever its called now with SV USA) is probably their best. I think its got reasonable durability and if I were forced to use a SV product it would be this over anything else. I think the guys over on DW have documented BOS lasting longer than CR. Which CR is priced just a hair less than ridiculous.

Agpatel, I looked at the glass cleaner. I'll be honest and say the price scared me away from it.

Just wondering, what makes it so good? Compared to Adams, Stoners, or Meguiars glass cleaner? Does it dilute?

Great line of products. Pneu is great, and so is their Cleaner Fluid Professional. Cannot really go wrong with any of their waxes either. On the low-end, the Blau Weiss is great.

glass cleaner is glass cleaner......... if you ask me, there is no "magic" glass cleaner where it cleans with one swipe as people want you to believe. Ive tried Stoners, Adams, Prima, Windex, Megs you name it......honestly Megs is the best value and frankly if it does not knock down after one wipe then work it till its clean to your satisfaction. Its worth the hassle to save that kind of money IMO...... buy a gallon of Megs or something that is disputable and you will be fine.

Spend your money on the other products in their line that you will see a noticeable difference if any.

Yes cleaner is cleaner but it was one of the first ones that impressed me with the cleaning ability to and that it always left streak free finish no matter the conditions. I got them before the price hick and got them for below MSRP. Once I run out of my two bottles I will venture into other options.

Have not had a single issue with Megs..........or stoners, Prima yes, it streaked.

    just sayin
