about what this guy is using/doing in this video, please. Porsche nano coating - YouTube It doesn't look like he's polishing the paint, but more like he's applying something and then removing it. I'm also interested in the tool set-up he's using. any usefull info will be appreciated and thanked.
The video looks to be in Thai, I know there's many popular semi-permanent sealants there such as "Beautiful G'Zox".....Also I've also seen these pistol grip type rotaries I believe Porter Cable makes a similar model but were not popular here due to their cumbersome control, I could look into the model # if you want. BTW he was polishing before
I'm guessing it's pneumatic? Also, I just realized that he is polishing at the beginning, I watched it a little bit rushed the first time, so I missed it. Also, when he is applying his (what appears to be) nano coating, he seems to be using some type of Aquapel applicator. Any info on this product by any chance? Seems really easy to use and gives a nice, crisp clarity to the paint as well.
It's actually electric, what he's using for application is the same method as we use for CQuartz. MF suede with a block behind it so it doesn't suck up too much product. Basically with G'Zox you can't get it unless your a registered and approved detailer and it costs a shit load of money...but Joey don't look too much into these videos. The north american market is literally shit compared to asian car market. To be honest I never seen a rich detailer over here, I mean not even a owner of a high output shop unless he has a couple, or he sells mechandise or he gets money for repping products. I mean detailers/business owners work their asses off over here but not many people like to pay then $250 for a complete detail..Over there it's completely different, it's actually cool to spend your money on your car, over their you have to buy the absolute best car you can afford and then some. The more parts/upgrades/paint cleanliness you have the better your reputation(it matters in a communty over there), it could be that skilled labour is cheap and that the lower currency makes it easier for neighbouring countries to send them their cars. ie Danny @ Auto Detailer Malaysia gets cars from Germany, Japan and India. I believe he never has a dull moment @ his shop but in the end they get more full correction or permanent paint pertections then us if we compared everything 1:1.
Alright, Thanks for all the info. I was just curious about his machine and product. I wouldn't mind having access to some products like that, even if they DO cost a lot since every once in a while, I do get a client who gives me a blank canvas and is willing to pay. I haven't tried CQuartz yet, but if you say it's a similar product/application/result, then I might just give it a try on my next order.
