Do you detail your leased vehicles?

People think I am crazy for detailing my leased vehicles, but the last vehicle I gave back was in such good condition and low miles that I had 2,200.00 in equity that I rolled over onto the new lease. I just picked up a 2012 Ford Fusion and washed it with Duragloss 901, gave it a coat of Megs cleaner wax (did a good job of taking out and scuffs and leftover residue) and then a coat of Collonite 476s.

I will be doing the same to my 2011 Highlander tomorrow. Finished this up today, both came out pretty nice for a mini-detail.

I dont own a leased vehicle, but of course I'd detail it if I was driving it. If im gonna be driving a car for any extended period of time you bet I'd make sure it looked good.

    I detail mine, don't see why I shouldn't.
As long as it's in my possession I will detail it and keep it clean the best I can

I opti coated mine and wash it once a week. I find that if I give it a quick clean up once a week, it generally stays clean and doesn't require a big detail.

I detail ours as well, I say just because it's not yours you shouldn't treat it any other way then if it was yours

Very true. Plus when customers see my car, they usually go "wow that cars clean, I want my car to look like that".

I treat them the same, no matter how they are paid for.

I am glad to see I am not the only one. I feel better now.

The majority of leased vehicles I prep are Nissan and VW/Audi. Thats about it, haven't seen anything else brand-wise for leases this season.

Alot of OptiGuard/OptiCoat, and lots of maintenance stuff. They like to keep them nice.. i think its because they might buy them at the end, but also because they don't want big hits on reconditioning.

They get treated the exact same.

I bought my VW Rabbit out at the end of the lease but I maintained it extremely well. Same applies for my dad's 335i which is still a lease. Any time I take my car in to the stealership the employees are blown away. And of course, I leave a do not wash sign if the car is getting serviced.

Ive never leased a vheicle, never saw the value in it. Maybe Im missing something?

Anyway, I would keep it the same as my owned vechicles for sure.

A few benefits: Less money in the short term. Lets you have a newer vehicle more often. If something happens to the car like an accident the residual value is set that price per contract and the company is obligated to purchase it again.

I would if I leased a vehicle, I've rewashed rental cars because of the crappy job done at the airports auto wash

I maintained my IS350....... it was a lease. Why would you not maintain it?

My old boss is almost due to turn in his A4 and it has seen better days. I told him let me maintain it, but he thinks the carwash down the street is enough. This is his first lease and he will soon find out what the dealership will bill him for not taking care of it.

Leasing to me appeals to the fact I get a new car about every two years........ The hassle of not having to sell it, deal with tire kickers, and people who wan to nickle and dime you is unreal sometimes and its just easier for me to lease a car and kick it back to them in two years no hassle and move on in life.

Buy the car out offend you won't have to pay the fee.
