about how much work time with a 7424xp on 5 does it take before the power finish will start to flash? im working it slowly for what feels like ever and it isnt turning into a clear liquid like i thought it would. the results im getting are good, but i thought it was supposed to become like a water when it was shot. maybe i need less internet reading and more experience. 50/50 to follow.
I would think it depends on your climate, the temperature, pressure you're putting on the machine, and type of pad. Are you using the KB method? Are you priming the pad, how much polish are you reapplying to panels? When I work powerfinish it doesn't turn into a "clear liquid". I haven't had that experience with powerfinish. I've had M105 flash rather quickly and fully disappear on the paint. With powerfinish it definitely fades off and eventually disappears, but I'm not sure what you're looking for in terms of how it flashes. I don't think work time should be a huge concern if you're getting results. Look at the paint as you're polishing. Are the defects being corrected? If so, you can stop and wipe off to see if the paint is at a finish you deem acceptable. If not, keep polishing. You can step it up with a more aggressive pad if you aren't getting enough cut or if you want to refine the finish, you can always lower the speed and/or pressure for the final few passes.
here is what i have done so far. 2 passes with uber green and power finish, then followed by uber black and final finish 85rd onto the pictures!
