the thing i love about tarminator compared to megs body solvent is that it doesnt dry up so fast.

that is true, Tarminator is by far better, but it also depends on how bad the issue is too, I use body solvent alot to remove gum or other sticky residue a car may sling up on the quarter panels. Ive used it to clean rims too.....

Dunno if it's cheaper but I've seen some impressive reviews and vids on Car Pro Tar X. Made from citrus extracts instead of solvents and has an entertaining day-glo like color. Everyone universally reports the sprayers to be crap.

Real well, actually. That and dry cleaning fluid used to be the tar removers of choice way back when. Stinks up the garage pretty good and trying to wash it off the finish is fun as it kills soap suds real thoroughly.

Tardis, probably. It will also dissolve your hands if you'd like.

Haven't used Tarminator myself but I find Autoglym Intensive Tar remover to be great. I plan to pick up 3-4 bottles of Tarminator any day now. How does one go upon using it? Spray on spray off or spray on wipe off?

Be careful playing with Xylene; it's carsinogenic if I recall.

You will have to start looking at big name producers and buy it by the gallon at a bare minimum.

What comes to mind is the old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Price is OK, works as advertised and is easy to find otc locally. It also narrows down the choices we have to make on a ton of other products. Kind of a win,win situation.

I think you can order Tarminator by the gallon (or 5 gallon). I'd like to see how it performs not out of an aerosol can.

Tarminator works for me, you have to spray it, let it dwell for a bit, and then it will work better. Depends on the stuff stuck on the vehicle too.
When all else fails Goof Off professional, in the little yellow metal can always works for me. Q-Tips are great for applying it, rubbing it in, and the blot dry with a paper towel or something..

    Good luck with this !
