    ok,

I have seen this issue brought up over and over again on here but wanted to do a vote and the most effective way of removing water marks from windows. if you guys want to bring up water mark removal from painted surfaces as well that is ok, but my concern is windows.

the method I have been playing around with and found to be the most effective with no side affects (thus far) is using purple wool (lake country) on 1 or 2 on my rotary makita and menzerna "power gloss" after taping up the trim.

reason bringing this up is I took a trip to wesco in tacoma washington this week and mentioned this method to the manager there and he told me that alot of detailers use the compounding method to remove water marks from windows but each car company uses "a different finish" to the exterior of the windows and sometimes detailers are unaware of this and try compounding the glass only to marr it.

I was taken aback by this as I have yet to run into this issue and wanted to run it by you guys to see what you think.

sorry for the long post, any feedback would be greatly appreciated as i want to offer this service to my customers and also need to know what to charge for this.

ive used powergloss with an orange pad..... but if you want to remove it chemically, Pro Car makes a good waterspot remover as does Mark VI.

This is a good oppertunity to upsell nano sealant on glass by the way....especially if the client paid for waterspot removal, why not up sell them on "hey, you spent all this money removing the spots, I have __________ and will help prevent further issues"

#0000 steel wool does the job for me, but I haven't come against anything real nasty.

Has anyone come across any kind of coating on the outside of the auto glass that would be affected by using a DA and glass polish?
