I've been detailing for a few years in my spare time as I hold down a full time job in finance and prefer to work on higher end vehicles that get refered to me through contacts. I've started down the path of opening my own website and I'm curious about what products my fellow Candians would like to see offered that you can't easily get due to duties, shipping that you would like to get. I'm looking to start by offering Chemical Guys and Wolfs Chemicals but I'm open to find out what else you would like to get your hands on. I'm open to any suggestions that you may have. I don't want to offer products that you already have lots of access to (and yes I know Chemical Guys is easily obtained in Canada) through a couple of other sites in Canada that I've been a customer of through the years.
The Wolf's products would be nice. Make sure you have free shipping to NS The West must be big on online detailing stores... eshine.ca, autoobsessed.com (also in Edmonton) and now your shop... competition is always good for those of us who spend far too much money on detailing stuff. Best of luck!
Another Edmonton based store? What range of products would you look at offering? The thing is autoobsessed is nearing 1000 different items in stock, so I imagine you would want items unique to your own store. Mostly UK items? Scholl concepts or 3M?
Yes, the whole idea is to be unique and serve a market that isn't being touched with European brands and some of my favorite US brands. Keep the ideas coming with brands you would like access to in Canada at a fair price.
Well, Swissvax is not readily available everywhere in Canada, and I find that all the Zymol sellers have limited choice, or simply nothing in stock at this moment, which is a bit of a drag since I'm looking to get some new items. Scholl's would be interesting as well. Oh and that low cost foam gun from Home Depot only available in the US, that would be nice to have here in Canada too.
I agree with 604 on the Majestic Solutions stuff, I know this won't be possible but "flat rate shipping"
The flat rate shipping is something I have been looking into with something in the area of $7-$9 with free shipping over a certain amount.
I would also be looking to offer grand opening discounts to this forum for the first week just to help build up my customer base and let you try some products you may otherwise have never considered or heard of.
10 Years ago Canada really had a need for "Hard to get products" but IMO we are now flooded. We have almost 1000 Products! The problem we have found is that we are so saturated with products that new lines just don't take off. It seems harder and harder to introduce anything that is unique.
I agree but I think the competition is welcomed by consumers, it leads to better and better products. It's like what's happening right now with the "coating" fad First: Aquartz, then Opti Coat V.1/V.2, Cquartz, Opti-Guard, C2, Permanon, Wolf's Nano Paint sealant. I think Nanolex is one. Meguairs Thailand is working on it's own "deep crystal" paint sealant There's another company called G'zau Hi-MOHS which appearntly has another sealant but it's better for the consumer because prices are dropping and ease of use is improving at a rapid rate.
