I know there is Citrus Wash & Gloss, Citrus Wash & Clear and then Detailed Image carries Citrus Wash. My question is which performs the best and what dilutions do you guys use them at. I know CG states 1oz per 5 gallons for regular washes and 1oz per gallon to strip lsps. But do you all use those dilutions or have you found that other dilutions work better? And if I were to use say 1 1/2 oz for a 3 gallons wash is it lsp safe. Also those who have foam lances what dilutions do you use this at that is lsp safe and to strip lsps.
I've used CW&G & CW&C. I use them most frequently at maintenance wash dilutions. When I want to strip I use CW&C in addition to OPC. CW&G feels more lubrous to me but CW&C produces what feels like a cleaner finish for maintenance washes. Someone posted a chart on AutopiaForums a few weeks ago showing price per wash for many popluar washes at maintenance dilutions. CW&G was by far the most cost-effective per wash when purchased by the gallon. TL
just remember, more is NOT always better in terms of dilution ratios. i only have CWG and i use it for both stripping LSP and maintenance wash. I think i will get CWC and use it strictly for stripping the surface. i will reserve the CWG for maintenance washes. there is serious gloss and shine on the paint when used in maintenance dilution. i would go with what the label says for maintenance wash dilution (i think 1oz to 2-3 gallon?) for foam lance, i always go 2oz of the wash liquid and then add on the "toppings" to my liking. yup, like i said, more is not always better in dilutions. i use it all the time for my car during maintenance washes, looks very glossy after the bath. =)
Take it up with Chemical Guys, they're the ones that put dilution ratios on the label for both stripping and maintenance washes. TL
CG citrus wash is their best of the citrus washes. Everything else is either to weak, or too expensive. If you want a maitenance wash get Maxi Suds.
I really only use Chemical Guys Soaps now So here is my take on different Citrus Washes CG Offers. Citrus Wash - This is the strongest of the citrus soaps that CG offers. The soap is mainly designed to strip and prep the car for paint correction by removing all the only wax and sealant. This soap is really not designed to be a maintenance soap as it is very strong. I talked to CG alot and they said they designed this soap mainly for intense cleaning. Citrus Wash Clear (Citrus Wash Daily) - This is the most gentle of the citrus soaps. This soap is designed to be very gentle on wax/sealant coats and can be used on a daily basis. This is the maintenance soap of the CG citrus line. this soap is Ph Neutral so it can be used in direct sunlight. Citrus Wash & Gloss - This wash is very unique and would be considered more of the "Wash & Wax" category of washes. The wash is a unique wash that has a glossing agent that coats the car. I use this wash on vehicles that I do not wax and are only coming to me for a "wash". Since there is a glossing agent in the soap, this means this soap is not Ph Neutral.
I like Citrus wash prior to detailing. What other soaps from CG do you recommend? I am looking for a good soap that will not alter the look and will not affect LSP
If you want pure maintenance soap with no effect on the LSP, try maxi suds II or Citrus wash clear. I personally use Glossworks. I guess it has an effect on LSP, but i like the smell and the look. Over the past few weeks I have been using Honeydew Snow Foam in a 2 bucket wash without a foam gun or cannon. CG HDSF is a good maintenance soap. I have a coat of Ezyme on my car right now and its holding up very strong after 9 or 10 washes with CG HDSF.
